Rafael Nadal vs Albert Ramos-Viñolas (6-1, 6-3)

History was made in the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters as Rafael Nadal provided a live betting performance for the ages to become the first man in the Open Era to win 10 tournament titles and 50 clay-court crowns.

Betting websites had the 30-year-old Spanish clay specialist to win it all at Monte-Carlo; and sure enough, he lived up to expectations to the delight of his sports betting fans.

His straight set win over countryman Albert Ramos-Viñolas was nothing short of clinical, proving once again why he is the undisputed “King of Clay.”

It took just 16 games and 76 minutes to decide the finale as Nadal put the pressure on Ramos-Viñolas right from the start.

The 15th-seeded surprise finalist has been eyeing to keep the points short where he thought he would have the advantage over Nadal who is a better player in long rallies. However, he couldn’t be more wrong.

Nadal, in fact, controlled the short points to deny the 29-year-old any chance at all. He was even ruthless in the first set, giving Ramos-Viñolas only one game with his service at its absolute best.

Ramos- Viñolas fought harder come the second set despite the mounting pressure. Nonetheless, although Nadal was not as flawless as he was in the first, his pace and depth were just too much for the World No.24 who buckled in the last game with a double fault.

Nadal’s forehand—which accounted for 12 winners with only eight unforced errors yielded—made the difference in the match, though it can’t be denied that the Spanish tennis icon also dominated with his service game, winning 75 percent of his first serves compared to his opponent’s 56 percent.

The win gave Nadal his first victory of the season after losing in the finals of the Australian Open and Indian Wells Masters against Roger Federer. It’s also his 14th straight year to win an ATP World Tour title.

Ramos- Viñolas, meanwhile, will still have his head held high as he is set to crack into the Top 20 of the world rankings following the best week of his career.

“I feel lucky to keep playing tennis, being healthy all those years, in order to compete in one of the most beautiful events of the year, without a doubt. I am very happy to win another one. For me, it is a very important day in my career,” Nadal said.

Next up for Nadal is at Barcelona and Roland Garros where he will also bid to lift his 10th titles.
