Now This is a Surprising Indian Wells Quarterfinals!

BNP Paribas Open Women’s Singles QF

The battle at the desert continues to heat up, and tennis live betting fans already saw a few surprises heading into the last eight.

Out of the top seven players in the tournament, only World No.1 Simona Halep and No.5 Karolina Pliskova made it to the quarterfinals. Other online gambling heavyweights like Caroline Wozniacki, Garbine Muguruza, Elina Svitolina, Jelena Ostapenko and Caroline Garcia disappointed betting websites and packed their bags early.

Sure enough, the unpredictability of the women’s tournament makes it more appealing to watch, and there will certainly be more when the top players vie it out for a ticket to the semis.

Simona Halep vs Petra Martic

Martic might not be a household name in tennis yet, but she has proven to be a capable big stage player, having reached the Round of 16 of the French Open, Wimbledon and Australian Open over the past 12 months.

Sure enough, Halep is the favourite here. After all, she has already won the tournament before. However, her tennis isn’t at its best, as seen in her scrappy wins over Caroline Dolehide and Qiang Wang.

I believe this match will go the distance, so bet on Martic Asian Handicap +1.50 @ 2.09.

Karolina Pliskova vs Naomi Osaka

The meeting between Osaka and Pliskova is promising to be an exciting encounter between two of the tour’s most aggressive and powerful players.

Osaka is having one of her best tournaments, reaching the quarterfinal of a Premier Mandatory event for the first time in her career. Nonetheless, the draw has been more favourable to Pliskova as she didn’t face a top-30 player on her way to this stage—the Japanese, in contrast, played former top players Maria Sharapova and Agnieszka Radwanska.

Not to mention that Pliskova won their lone meeting in Toronto last year. With that said, go for Pliskova Game Handicap -3.00 @ 1.94.

Venus Williams vs Carla Suarez-Navarro

Williams is undoubtedly on a high right now after beating her younger sister, Serena, who returned to the tournament for the first time in 17 years. Now, she will look to continue her winning ways in the desert.

Fortunately, she’ll be facing Suarez-Navarro who hasn’t beaten her since 2015. During that stretch, Williams defeated the 29-year-old Spaniard three times in a row.

It should also give Williams more confidence that she is yet to drop a single set in the competition.

Angelique Kerber vs  Daria Kasatkina

Kerber is the more experienced player, but fans shouldn’t sleep on the 19th-ranked Kasatkina who has been the biggest surprise of the Indian Wells Masters.

It wasn’t an easy road for the 20-year-old Russian, but she managed to make it to the last eight despite playing the likes of Sloane Stephens and World No.2 Caroline Wozniacki—whom she both beat in straight sets.

The two players have met four times and split the contests at 2-2 each, with Kasatkina winning two of the last three.
