Wimbledon Women’s Singles QF

We’re down to the last eight women, and it’s time to take live betting to another level as the remaining participants vie to get a step closer to winning the most prestigious slam tournament.

There have been a few surprises and upsets for sports betting fans, with most of the top seeds packing their bags early. Nevertheless, that won’t lessen the thrill and excitement of this competition at the All England Club especially with the players fighting for pride, rankings and honour.

Svetlana Kuznetsova vs Garbiñe Muguruza

After winning the battle of contrasting styles with the defence-first and World No.1 Angelique Kerber, the hard-hitting Muguruza will certainly look to ride on the momentum she got to book her place to the final four.

Defeating Kuznetsova, of course, won’t be a walk in the park for the Spanish star, considering that the Russian hasn’t dropped a single set or hasn’t been pushed to the limit. However, Muguruza should still feel confident given that she won her last three meetings with the 32-year-old.

With that in mind, betting on Muguruza Asian Handicap -1.50 @ 2.53 is a risk worth taking.

Venus Williams vs Jelena Ostapenko

Both have undoubtedly performed beyond their ages – with 20-year-old Ostapenko playing better than ever and 37-year-old Williams continuously turning back the clock – so their first-ever meeting should be one for the ages (see what I did there?).

Ostapenko, the reigning French Open titlist, will be difficult to stop with her aggressive style, but no one can write off Venus here. Not on her lawn where she is a five-time champion.

I like the chances of the American star advancing, so Williams on Game Handicap -1.50 @ 1.86 is the way to go for me.

Coco Vandeweghe vs Magdalena Rybarikova

It’s easy to understand why Vandeweghe is the favourite to win in this matchup. This is already her second Wimbledon quarterfinal in three years—and she did it without dropping a set—while Rybarikova is only entering the first Grand Slam quarterfinal of her career.

However, Rybarikova isn’t without a chance. She upset World No.3 Karolina Pliskova on her way to this stage, and it should boost her that the 25-year-old American hasn’t defeated her in their two meetings.

With Vandeweghe’s serve-based power game and Rybarikova’s change of pace and spin, this battle should go the distance. Nonetheless, given their history, choosing Rybarikova Game Handicap +3.00 @ 1.94 is the best move.

Simona Halep vs Johanna Konta

There are a couple of histories at stake in this game.

Konta will be backed by a passionate home crowd, and she will surely use it to her advantage to become the first Brit to reach the Wimbledon semifinal since Virginia Wade in 1978.

For Halep, she will be motivated by the fact that a win here will saw her become the first Romanian woman ever to hold the No.1 ranking.

Both of their two meetings went to a thriller, so this should be no different. Though, I think Halep – with her performance this 2017 – is the better player and should be able to win on Money Line Odds that pays at 1.88.
