Miami Open Women’s Final

Johanna Konta vs Caroline Wozniacki

Both players will play in the Miami Open final for the first time, and they promise online betting fans a live betting tennis showdown they’ve never seen before.

Betting odds point to a whole different affair than their third round meeting last January when Konta comfortably beat Wozniacki, and no wonder. The two have been on a tear this 2017 with Konta boasting an 18-3 record to go along with a title in Sydney, while Wozniacki is 23-6 and will be playing her third final in just four events.

Konta played superb tennis on her way to the finals, and her most scintillating performance came in the semifinals where she ousted Venus Williams in two sets. Her sharp and ferocious attacks beat the American to the punch in a match that featured one of the most powerful displays of hitting we’ve seen this season.

Wozniacki, meanwhile, once again showed some of her comeback magic in her victory over no.2 seed Karolina Pliskova to book her finals ticket in Key Biscayne. Wozniacki’s world-class defence was on full display in her battle with Pliskova, wearing the Czech down and rallying to defeat her despite dropping the first set that lasted for over an hour.

Sure enough, this will be an intriguing matchup between an outstanding offence and a rock-solid defence that could go down the wire. Konta knows that Wozniacki will be a big test for her endurance with the latter’s expertise in a battle of attrition. However, the British no.1 could use her service game to her advantage to keep the 26-year-old Dane running all over the court.

Wozniacki is a savvy veteran who knows how to handle different styles of play, and her win over Pliskova proves that she can keep up with power players. This fact makes her the slight favourite to win the finals on Money Line odds of 1.90.

Nonetheless, if Konta can be patient and wait to attack Caro’s second serve, she could be a solid choice on Game Handicap +1.00 @ 1.82.
