Rolex Paris Masters SF

Who would have thought that Filip Krajinovic, Julien Benneteau, John Isner and Jack Sock will make it to the semi-finals of the Paris Masters?

Indeed, few sports betting experts placed their money on the four progressing, and it’s not even too far-fetched to say that most casual online gambling fans heard the name of some of the semi-finalists for the first time.

However, after playing fantastic tennis and getting a little bit of luck, here they are now ready to turn around the betting odds and surprise the City of Love once again.

John Isner vs Filip Krajinovic

The battle continues for John Isner, and he’s well in contention not only for his first Masters 1000 title but also for his first ATP Finals appearance.

Isner’s chances to make it this far and challenge for a place in London were slim at the start of the week, but he proved in the tournament why he’s one of the game’s elites and best servers.

The 32-year-old American—with his powerful serve—has been an unstoppable force in Paris, taking down the likes of Grigor Dimitrov and most recently Juan Martin del Potro to make it this far. He has also shown great composure as he survived all his matches that went to the distance.

While Filip Krajinovic is playing the best tennis of his career and has been remarkable, it’s hard to see him getting out victorious against the determined Isner. Though, he isn’t without a chance as he has the rest advantage after getting a walkover against Rafael Nadal.

Not to mention that the slow courts of Bercy have been favourable for him, fitting his game style perfectly.

If Krajinovic can make this a three-setter, he has a good chance to make it to the finals. Nonetheless, I don’t think that will happen against Isner who’s on a mission. If you’re punting, Isner on Asian Handicap -1.50 @ 1.99 is the best choice.

Julien Benneteau vs Jack Sock

After ousting players like Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, David Goffin and Marin Cilic, there’s no doubt that Julien Benneteau will be a tough nut to crack.

A wildcard participant, the 35-year-old has impressed with his exceptional shot-making. And despite lacking the killer weapons common among top players today, he was pretty much in command throughout the tournament.

Jack Sock is much younger and powerful and has more left on his legs as compared to the Frenchman, who is playing in his last Paris Masters. However, Benneteau has more variety and could exploit the American’s inconsistent backhand.

It shouldn’t also help Sock that he’ll be playing in front of a partisan crowd rooting for home hero Benneteau to win his first singles title in his 17-year career.

I think this one will be close, but I believe Benneteau has the momentum swinging on his side. Go for Benneteau Game Handicap -1.50 @1.46.
