Australian Open Women’s Singles QF

The Australian Open is down to the last eight, and it’s brewing to be an exciting sports betting affair as top players and live betting darlings Simona Halep, Caroline Wozniacki, Elina Svitolina and Karolina Pliskova headline the event.

Angelique Kerber, Madison Keys, Elise Mertens, and Carla Suarez Navarro are also in, and they can’t be counted out as they are all resolute on upsetting online gambling and showing they have what it takes to be in the conversation among the game’s elite.

Elina Svitolina vs Elise Mertens

Elina Svitolina is clearly in the zone right now, winning her last two in straight sets all while dropping just a combined seven games.

The 23-year-old Ukrainian is poised for a breakthrough moment now; and given that she’s serving at a high level and playing cleanly with few unforced errors, it’s doubtful Elise Mertens, who has shown some inconsistency the last time out, can put up much of a fight. Place your bet on Svitolina -1.50 @ 1.77.

Caroline Wozniacki vs Carla Suarez Navarro

Caroline Wozniacki has never won a major singles title, so she will certainly be determined to maintain her excellent form this time in hopes of lifting the Aussie Open silverware.

The Dane has been on a tear since her narrow escape in the second round—winning her last two matches in straight sets—and will be hard to beat. Carla Suarez Navarro, however, should be able to at least make things interesting, especially after her comeback victory over Anett Kontaveit that earned her a ticket to this stage.

I predict Caro to win, but I think the match will go the distance. With that said, Suarez Navarro on +1.50 @ 2.31 is the way to go for me.

Angelique Kerber vs Madison Keys

These two have played seven times already, with Angelique Kerber winning six of those meetings. Nonetheless, they haven’t fought in two years and it’s evident that Madison Keys is a much more consistent and stronger player now.

Kerber is capable of handling the power of Keys, but the issue is how much she has left following her three-setter against giant-killer Hsieh Su-Wei.

On the other hand, Keys is yet to drop a set and made easy work of World No.8 Caroline Garcia, hitting 32 winners including nine aces in their round of 16 matchup.

Simona Halep vs Karolína Plíšková

Ranked as the World No.1, Simona Halep has a lot to prove. Fortunately, she’ll head into this match with a fresh pair of legs after needing just an hour and 20 minutes to repel No.72 and Japanese rising star Naomi Osaka.

That should prove beneficial when she meets Karolina Pliskova, who had a hard time against Barbora Strycova. The Romanian star will also find confidence from the fact that Pliskova has beaten her just once in their six meetings.
