Giant versus Giant Slayer – this will be the storyline of the 2017 Roland Garros final when Rafael Nadal meets Stan Wawrinka. However, I won’t expect a live betting classic if I were you.
After all, betting tips are already stacked against Wawrinka, with betting odds placing him as a heavy underdog at 4.57 while Nadal is at 1.16.

Sure enough, it might be disrespectful to write off the Stanimal here in the French finals. He won the tournament in 2015, and has proven time and time again that he’s a big-stage player – he’s three for three in all the major finals he played!
Nevertheless, his horrifying 15-3 head-to-head record (6-1 on clay court) against Nadal won’t put hopes of an upset up.
Not to mention that the Spaniard has never lost in all of his nine French Open finals appearances.
Wawrinka is capable of giving a dazzling performance to somehow thrill the crowd, but I won’t bet against Nadal in his current brilliant form.
