Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix

The Formula 1 season has run off to a fantastic start, and Sebastian Vettel has once again taken the head start. Betting websites are already looking forward to the season-long tussle between Vettel, who has 4.50 outright odds, and Lewis Hamilton (1.40) as they vie for another championship. However, it would be wrong for sports betting fans to assume that they are the only ones that matter in the Bahrain Grand Prix.

The first man to consider in this match is Kimi Raikkonen. While bookies don’t rate him highly with 11.00 outright odds, he did start second at the Australian Grand Prix ahead of his German team-mate. While he finished the race in third, he posted the second-fastest lap of the race. Opposing teams better watch out for him.

Another man to watch out for is Fernando Alonso (101.00). He jumped five places from tenth in the Australian Grand Prix’s starting grid to fifth at the finish line. McLaren responded to Alonso’s cries the previous season and delivered a superb Renault-powered machine that will now allow the Spaniard to compete with the top three teams.

Haas drivers will also likely make a showing here. If it weren’t for their pit-stop mishaps, Kevin Magnussen (101.00) and Romain Grosjean (101.00) would have competed for podium spots in Melbourne. The team are doing extensive pit-stop practices to avoid this from happening again, and we can expect more impressive racing from this team.

Red Bull Racing have to produce some results here. A series of unfortunate mishaps by Daniel Ricciardo (15.00) and Max Verstappen (13.00) hampered the showcase of their cars, but the fact that Ricciardo pushed Raikkonen in the race’s dying stages meant that they have a very powerful machine under the trunk.

Vettel admitted that Mercedes are still the team to beat after seeing the results of the first race. Bookies agree as they gave Valtteri Bottas 5.00 outright odds. Given that the track has plenty of opportunities for overtakes and high-octane action, Toto Wolff’s team definitely has the advantage.

The Bahrain international circuit will be nice and cool by the time the race ends, but the action and racing to be had will keep temperatures at a high! Fans better not blink, as a golden moment could happen in this race!
