And boy is she wounded! The Bianconeri had a real football lesson at the Camp Nou on Tuesday and the sports betting world fully expects a reaction.
Juventus, strong favourites to win Serie A, have attracted plenty of football bets on a domestic and European double. But there’s still a long way to go and now it’s time to concentrate on Serie A again.
WEEK 4 SATURDAY:
Crotone vs Inter Milan
Inter has a 100 per cent record, which is no surprise to the football betting pundits who tipped Luciano Spalletti’s side to make a challenge this season. They have a chance to put pressure on Juve with a win at Crotone and Mauro Icardi will be keen to add to his five goal tally. Inter is at 2.00 to win with a -1.50 handicap, Crotone is at 1.93 with that start.
WEEK 4 SUNDAY:
Fiorentina vs Bologna
Star striker Giovanni Simeone got the first goal in the 5-0 destruction of Verona and Stefano Pioli’s team has a chance to leapfrog their visitors this weekend. Bologna lost at home to Napoli 3-0 last week and the Viola has won four of the last five between these two.
AS Roma vs Hellas Verona
Eusebio Di Francesco’s Roma have made a steady start in the league with a single win so far and had a tough Champions League 0-0 draw with Atletico Madrid in midweek. This is a chance to get their season going against newly-promoted Verona who were destroyed by Fiorentina last week.
Sassuolo vs Juventus
Juventus come into this game top on goal difference and Max Allegri shouldn’t have to work too hard to pick his team up after the Champions League loss to Barca.
Sassuolo are on one point and Juve’s strike pair of Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain will smell blood. Juventus at 1.88 with a handicap of -1.00 looks good value.
Napoli vs Benevento
Maurizio Sarri’s Napoli have three wins from three and entertain new boys Benevento, who are rock bottom and still to get a top flight point. Napoli’s goals flow from all parts of the team and Dries Mertens has made a fast start again. The hosts, like Juve may be hurting after a Champions League setback against Shakhtar Donetsk.
Torino vs Sampdoria
These two old favourites have both made a decent start to the new season. Torino is in fifth place with the visitors just a place and a point behind. Sampdoria’s Fabio Quagliarella is a threat and already has three goals.
AC Milan vs Udinese
Big summer signing Leonardo Bonucci will not have been amused as Milan lost their first points of the season in a disastrous showing in Rome. The Rossoneri should take their frustration out on Udinese, who won their first points last week. But, believe it or not, the visitors did the double over Milan last year.
SPAL vs Cagliari
Cagliari got their season going last week with a 1-0 home win over Crotone and now have a tricky visit to newcomers SPAL. The hosts have made a good start having picked up four points and are slight favourites to win this game at 2.49.
WEEK 4 MONDAY:
Chievo vs Atalanta
This one’s a tough game to call. Atalanta won at Sassuolo last week to get off the mark. They’ve had a difficult start with defeats to Napoli and Roma. Chievo, too, have three points but have already faced pacesetters Lazio and Juve. They’ll both fancy this one.
Genoa vs Lazio
The potent Ciro Immobile scored a hat-trick to make it four for the season as fourth placed Lazio humbled Milan 4-1 last week. Genoa lost to Udinese and have a solitary point, sitting in 16th. Lazio should win, but beware that Genoa have won three of its last four at home.
