Premier League betting is back, and I, for one, am glad.
Since the last set of football games in the top flight, one club has a new manager, one club has sold their star player for an incredible profit and one club has seen their boss open a bitter feud with a rival coach.
But will any of that play a part in my betting tips?
Watford FC vs Southampton (January 13, 23:00 GMT+8)
There’s no bad time to get a Premier League win, although both these clubs have probably forgotten what it’s like.
Watford at least can remember a victory when, in the words of manager Marco Silva, their attitude and spirit helped them see off Leicester to end a run of six games without a victory.
Despite fine draws against Arsenal and Manchester United at Old Trafford in December, Southampton have not tasted victory in the top flight since November 26 when they trounced the then-in-free-fall Everton.
Since then, Charlie Austin has been banned for three games and defender Virgil van Dijk has been sold for a club record £75 million.
They may have overcome a potential banana-skin FA Cup tie at Fulham last weekend, but I think the Saints are set for more Premier League disappointment.
My 🌟🌟🌟 tip is Asian Handicap -0.50 Watford @ 2.44.
West Bromwich Albion vs Brighton & Hove Albion (January 13, 23:00 GMT+8)
It’s incredible that West Brom have not won since August.
The Baggies won their first two league matches of the season, drew the third, lost at Brighton in the fourth and haven’t won in the league since.
The club is now on its longest ever run without a win in its 139-year history and, for the first time since being promoted back to the Premier League in 2010, is in real danger of dropping down.
Avenging that September defeat could be the catalyst Alan Pardew’s men need to turn their fortunes around if their previous game proved to be a turning point in their season.
I believe they will finally have success this weekend against a Brighton team which could be without midfielder Steve Sidwell for the rest of the season.
My other 🌟🌟🌟 bet is Asian Handicap -0.75 WBA @ 2.56.
Bournemouth vs Arsenal (January 14, 21:30 GMT+8)
These are two sides that love to attack but can’t always defend.
That rating may seem a bit harsh, particularly after the Gunners kept Chelsea out for the second time this season at Stamford Bridge in the League Cup in midweek.
There probably won’t be a repeat of last season’s 3-3 thriller, but I think it could be lively.
I’ll plump for a 🌟 tip of total goal 2-3 @ 2.06 and another 🌟 tip of Asian Handicap -1.00 Arsenal @ 2.29.
