Can you ever get too much football? Nope, me neither! And the Premier League has it all for us this week with football games everyday bar Monday.
You just can’t beat those big game nights under the floodlights, and we have some crackers, with the top four in action, a coronation for Manchester City and survival at stake for the strugglers. It all makes for a great week of online betting.
WEEK 35 WEDNESDAY:
Brighton & Hove Albion vs Tottenham Hotspur
Spurs had a football lesson at the weekend when Manchester City took over Wembley with some sublime football, so they’ll be keen to get back on track at Brighton. But the Seagulls could do with a result as they face the two Manchester clubs, Liverpool and Burnley in the next four.
WEEK 35 THURSDAY:
Bournemouth vs Manchester United
I hope Jose Mourinho has cheered up after a defeat to West Brom last Sunday. He wasn’t pleased by the suggestion that he’d gifted City the title, and his humour won’t be helped if the Red Devils struggle on the South Coast. The Cherries are a good attacking side and have lost just one of the last six at home so expect fireworks.
WEEK 35 FRIDAY:
Burnley FC vs Chelsea
The Clarets took a firm grip on seventh place with their fifth consecutive win, over Leicester, on Saturday. That will qualify them for a Europa spot unless Southampton win the FA Cup. Chelsea face the Saints in the semi-final on Sunday, so they may not be relishing a potentially bruising encounter at Turf Moor.
Leicester City vs Southampton
The Saints are in desperate trouble, five points from safety after surrendering a two-goal lead in a defeat to Chelsea at the weekend. However, they’ll know that league survival is more likely than a cup win, so I expect Mark Hughes’ team to give the eighth-placed Foxes a good fight.
WEEK 35 SATURDAY:
West Bromwich Albion vs Liverpool
Jay Rodriguez’ sensational winner against Manchester United has given the Baggies their pride back, but even a victory over Liverpool won’t have them believing they can survive. I suspect Jurgen Klopp’s Reds will give West Brom’s defence rather more of a torrid time.
Watford FC vs Crystal Palace
One point from five games might just have the Hornets fans sweating a little having looked safe all season. Palace, who seemed dead and buried when Roy Hodgson took over in the autumn, would leapfrog Watford with a win; and I wouldn’t bet against it.
WEEK 35 SUNDAY:
Manchester City vs Swansea City
It will be all smiles and celebration at the Etihad when the Champions parade their trophy in front of the Sky Blue faithful. Pep Guardiola’s stars have been head and shoulders above the rest, so the Swans will hope their hosts are too giddy on Sunday as they still need points to survive.
Stoke City vs Burnley FC
Burnley are in action again but have a rather different proposition when they make the journey south to Stoke. The Potters have had a wretched season and are anchored in the drop zone, but they will fight to the end and will be determined to avoid the Clarets completing a double.
WEEK 35 TUESDAY:
Everton vs Newcastle United
These two have been poles apart for much of the season: the Magpies struggling in a relegation battle while the Toffees have been underwhelming but stable in mid-table. But four wins for Rafa Benitez’ side mean they can leapfrog ninth-placed Everton with a win.
