Copa del Rey QF
After the surprising results of the first leg football games, the Spain Cup is bound to get more exciting.
Sure enough, the spotlight will be on Barcelona and Atletico Madrid as they both look to get the betting odds swinging back in their direction. The two Spanish giants are favoured to move on to the next round on betting websites, but make no mistake; Espanyol and Sevilla won’t be a walk in the park!
Sevilla vs (2-1 on agg.) Atletico Madrid
A pair of goals from Jesus Navas and Joaquin Correa in the last ten minutes saw Sevilla cancel Diego Costa’s opener and upset Atletico Madrid 1-2 in the first leg at Wanda Metropolitano. Now, the Sevillista’s will look to get the job done at the typically raucous Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
Costa remains a threat for Sevilla and should be able to find the back of the net again. However, Vincenzo Montella’s men are playing solidly at home and are expected to make life hard for the Rojiblancos. If you’re punting, Sevilla Draw No Bet @ 2.06 is the way to go.
Alaves vs (1-2 on agg.) Valencia
Their meeting last week saw Valencia trail Alaves at the hour. Nonetheless, while it was an entertaining encounter, the Oranges have proven how dominant they can be when they find their stride. Both Goncalo Guedes and Rodrigo were on target in the second-half as they completed a comeback victory to take a deserved lead in this return fixture.
Alaves will find some hope from the fact that Valencia are struggling on the road recently, but it should be noted that Marcelino’s outfit has defeated the Babazorros in six of their past seven head to head. Go for Valencia -0.50 @ 2.03.
Real Madrid vs (1-0 on agg.) Leganes
Los Blancos had to wait for Marco Asensio’s last-gasp winner to beat Leganes. Hence, it’s clear they need more attacking quality if they want to secure their semi-finals ticket safely.
It remains to be seen if any from the trio of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema will start this time, though Real Madrid will still fancy their chances considering that Leganes haven’t won an away game since October. Real Madrid at -2.00 @ 1.82 is a risky but worthwhile proposition.
Barcelona vs (0-1 on agg.) RCD Espanyol
Barcelona’s first defeat of the season in the hands of Espanyol was the talk of the town last Thursday. In a day that Lionel Messi missed a penalty, Los Periquitos struck late to break the hearts of Barca fans.
All is not lost for Barcelona, of course. Their 5-0 demolition of Espanyol at Camp Nou last September and their Copa del Rey performance against Celta Vigo earlier this month are reasons for optimism.
Not to mention that Philippe Coutinho could make his debut for the club after being sidelined due to a thigh injury. Considering all these, expect Barcelona to have a hot start and beat a First Half Asian Handicap -1.00 that pays at 1.78.
