Arsenal 2-1 Swansea City
Arsenal made it four wins from five league football games, and plunged Swansea into more trouble, with a second half fight back in a hard fought win at the Emirates.
Aaron Ramsey grabbed the winner in a match that football betting pundits expected to be a comfortable home win, but Swansea gave the live betting odds a shudder by going in at the break in front.
While the Gunners dominated possession, Swansea took a shock lead on 22 minutes when Sam Clucas latched onto a though ball to roll his shot between Petr Cech’s legs and into the net. The Swans defended their lead with great vigour, to leave Arsene Wenger shaking his head as he went down the tunnel at half time.
Whatever he said did the trick though because, in an explosive start to the second half, Arsenal turned the game around in the first 15 minutes. First Mesut Ozil had a shot blocked and Sead Kolasinac smashed the rebound home to make it 1-1.
Swansea almost regained the lead immediately when Tammy Abraham slid the ball home only to be flagged marginally offside. That did enough to get the Gunners going and Laurent Koscielny missed a sitter with his head with half an hour still on the clock, but Arsenal fans only had a minute to wait for Aaron Ramsey to finish off a beautiful team goal with a left foot strike into the bottom corner.
Alexandre Lacazette almost made it three soon after and Olivier Giroud could have settled nerves with minutes remaining but two was enough for the Gunners.
Arsene Wenger’s men are in the Champions League hunt, but the Swans are in a relegation scrap.
