Premier League: Some of the Biggest Names to Watch This Season

The 2024-25 Premier League campaign is upon us, and it’s expected to be an exciting one because of the star power existing among all 20 participating teams.

Manchester City will be looking to successfully defend their title for the fourth consecutive time, but the pre-season Premier League 2024 odds expect them to face stiff competition, as their rivals are praying for their downfall.

At the same time, several stars will be looking to make a name for themselves this upcoming season to help their clubs achieve their objectives and hopefully win trophies along the way.

While there are so many standouts to choose from, we have narrowed it down to four, and we will explain why SBOTOP football fans should keep an eye on these players in 2024-25.

Dominic Solanke, Tottenham

Tottenham have upgraded their roster this summer, as they’re planning to challenge for the Premier League title this upcoming season, and one of their biggest acquisitions was Dominic Solanke.

Solanke was one of the league’s top scorers last season, tallying 19 goals and three assists for Bournemouth to prevent them from being relegated, and Tottenham paid a whopping £65 million to get him.

Since Harry Kane left North London last year, Tottenham have been searching for a proper centre-forward, and Solanke certainly fits the profile.

With the former Bournemouth man in tow alongside Heung-Min Son, Dejan Kulusevski, Timo Werner, Brennan Johnson, and Richarlison, the Spurs have one of the deepest attacking corps in the Premier League that’s perfect for Ange Postecoglou’s proactive playstyle.

Can Solanke help the Spurs finally end their long trophy drought? We’ll see, but for sure, they’ll be fun to watch this upcoming season.

Phil Foden, Manchester City

Phil Foden was named Premier League Player of the Season in 2023-24 after tallying 19 goals and eight assists in the league. However, he didn’t look like it while playing for England in Euro 2024, so he will aim to remind everyone of his credentials this upcoming season.

The 24-year-old midfielder didn’t play in Manchester City’s Community Shield triumph against Manchester United last weekend, as he was given the time off after representing the Three Lions.

On his best day, Foden is a world beater and often the x-factor for the Sky Blues since he excels in Pep Guardiola’s tactics. Although he is primarily a No. 10, he can also play as a winger when needed.

At the Etihad, Foden will link up with Erling Haaland, Bernardo Silva, Jack Grealish, Jeremy Doku, and Kevin De Bruyne to create new Premier League 2024 highlights for Manchester City.

Bruno Fernandes, Manchester United

Bruno Fernandes will serve as Manchester United captain for the second straight year this season, and he’s hopeful that the team will do much better this time around.

The Red Devils suffered their worst-ever Premier League finish last time in eighth place, but they were able to salvage their 2023-24 campaign by winning the FA Cup trophy.

The Portuguese midfielder is one of the most prolific playmakers in the league, as he was Manchester United’s top scorer and assist maker (10 goals and eight assists). But more than the goals and assists, what makes Bruno Fernandes indispensable is his availability, since he rarely misses matches.

Bruno Fernandes, like Phil Foden, can also play multiple positions on the pitch. He also excels at playing on the right wing, and he was deployed as a No. 9 during their Community Shield match against Manchester City last weekend.

Because of what he brings to Old Trafford, Manchester United are in talks with Fernandes’ camp, hoping to agree on a new contract over the next few weeks.

Mohamed Salah, Liverpool

Mohamed Salah has one year left on his contract, so he is looking to secure another huge payday with Liverpool by turning in another solid campaign in 2024-25.

The 32-year-old was the Reds’ top scorer last season with 18 goals and 10 assists. He will link up with Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota, Cody Gakpo, and Luis Diaz in the final third.

Saudi Arabia has knocked on Salah’s door for a while, but it seems that the Egyptian international has no intention of leaving Anfield. If he can stay 100-per cent fit throughout next season, there’s no doubt that he can re-establish himself as one of the best players in the world. Liverpool will need Mohamed Salah to be just that if they are going to win more trophies, such as the Premier League. Last season, the Reds finished third in the table.
