As the dust settles on another monumental Premier League season, thoughts turn briefly to the beach and then… the 2019/2020 campaign!
Yes SBOBET Football fans, the league climax is just over a week old and we’re already seeing news of moves and contract negotiations on the back pages. A couple of big deals have already been done, but there are plenty more beginning to gather pace.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a big rebuilding job to do at Old Trafford and he has, unsurprisingly, been the most active of the Big Six managers so far. Manchester United ended a disappointing season with a home defeat to Cardiff City and so their fans want to see some positive Premier League 2019/2020 news from their heroes and their management team. OGS has some big wage bills to move on while trying to strengthen his squad with young, hungry and near ready replacements.
Deals Done
Chelsea did their first deal back in December with the £58m capture of Borussia Dortmund’s Christian Pulisic, who is settling in at Stamford Bridge as his new team-mates prepare for the Europa Cup final. The 20-year old American says he aims to emulate the success of Eden Hazard at the Bridge, and he may have to start working on that pretty soon as the Belgian’s move to Real Madrid inches closer.
Meanwhile, Arsenal has said goodbye to one of its best player of the last decade. Aaron Ramsay is heading for pastures new in Serie A with Scudetto winners Juventus. He’s already there watching the Bianconeri in its last game of the season before his transfer is confirmed on July 1st.
Wolves have made permanent the signing of striker Raul Jiminez in a £30m switch from Benfica after the Portuguese striker enjoyed an impressive first Premier League season at Molyneux.
And Eddie Howe has made an early move to strengthen his rearguard with the £13m signing of Bristol City’s highly rated 20-year-old defender, Lloyd Kelly.
Transfers Bubbling Under
It’s inevitable that the pre-season Premier League 2019/2020 betting tips will lean towards a third successive title for Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, and if they strengthen in the summer then the Sky Blues will surely be the team to beat again. Pep Guardiola is reported to be close to signing Juventus right-back Joao Cancelo in a deal worth £50m.
Over at Old Trafford, the Red Devils are resigned to losing goalkeeper David de Gea after the Spaniard rejected his latest contract offer and OGS has said that number two Sergio Romero could be his man between the sticks next season. He has no immediate big money targets to replace De Gea if his mooted move to Real Madrid comes off.
In brighter news for the Old Trafford faithful, the Red Devils are close to signing Swansea City winger Daniel James for a fee of around £15m, though whether he is quite ready to make the first eleven is doubtful.
Burnley have rekindled their interest in West Brom centre back Craig Dawson and are reported to have tabled a £15m bid for the 29-year-old. Dawson wants a return to the Premier League after the Baggies failed in their bid for promotion and he has bags of experience in the top flight. If the deal comes off, it could pave the way for a big money exit for Burnley centre back James Tarkowski.
Former Claret Kieran Trippier looks set to leave Spurs for sunnier climes, and he is a target for Atletico Madrid and Napoli.
New Rumours
Manchester United could see another big earner on his way if Inter Milan keeps up its interest in striker Romelu Lukaku. The Serie A giants are also keeping tabs on Chelsea’s Victor Moses, who has spent much of the last few seasons on loan, latterly at Fenerbahce. If the Milan club appoints managerial target Antonio Conte then those two moves could gather pace.
The OId Trafford club is reported to be ready to table a £25m bid for Crystal Palace’s wing back Aaron Wan-Bissaka. But Ole will need to dig deeper into the owners’ pockets as the Eagles value their asset at £70m. That’s a little high though.
With Jiminez in the bag, ambitious Wolves are leading the chase for Porto’s Moussa Marega, who has a release clause of £35m. The 28-year-old scored six times for the Portuguese club in this season’s Champions League and he’d be another attacking threat for Nuno Espirito Santo’s team. Nuno could face competition from Serie A though, where Roma have been keeping track on the Mali international.
And with the big clubs eying his winger Ryan Fraser, Eddie Howe is considering a move for Liverpool’s Harry Wilson, who has impressed on loan at Championship club Derby County this season.
