Premier League: Gunners and Cherries Set for a Goalfest

countdown banner

Arsenal vs Bournemouth

It’s been a while since either Arsenal or Bournemouth has tasted defeat in the Premier League. The Gunners are unbeaten in their last four, although they’ve won just one of those matches.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth had won two on the bounce before their entertaining 2-2 draw against West Ham last week.

Arsenal will be looking for all three points at home as they look to keep pace atop the table. That race for the top four is currently so tight that even eight-placed Bournemouth can potentially move in if they score a huge away win at the Emirates.

And based on these two teams’ current form — not to mention previous matchups — this figures to be a game that is sure to entertain SBOBET Premier League fans.

Talking Points

Aubameyang keeps banging ’em in

Arsenal have had quite an interesting season thus far. Despite finding themselves in fourth, they have not looked all that convincing. They’ve drawn three of their last four matches, one of which was against Watford where they threw away a two-goal lead.

Although, they did also come from behind to beat Aston Villa 3-2 despite going down to 10 men. They also came back to draw 1-1 with Manchester United last week.

Frankly, Arsenal have Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to thank for their current position. The 30-year-old — and last year’s co-Golden Boot winner — has scored in all but one of Arsenal’s seven league matches thus far and has seven goals in total (second in the league).

Arsenal have needed every one of those goals as they continue to struggle at the back. They’ve failed to keep a clean sheet since their 1-0 win over Newcastle United in the opening weekend.

The Gunners still have to face Standard Liege in the Europa League, although manager Unai Emery will likely rotate his squad heavily for that match in anticipation of Bournemouth.

Emery has still not settled on a consistent shape, particularly in midfield. But regardless of who he picks among Granit Xhaka, Matteo Guendouzi, Lucas Torreira, and Dani Ceballos, the Gunners should still have more than enough quality compared to their Bournemouth counterparts.

Bournemouth keep bringing the goals

Bournemouth doesn’t seem capable of being involved in boring matches this season. Since their 1-1 draw against Sheffield United, all of their matches have seen at least three goals and the last five have had four. That includes their 2-2 draw at home against West Ham.

Like Emery, manager Eddie Howe has been unable to figure out how his team can keep clean sheets; they have yet to get a single one through their first seven games.

But similar to Arsenal, they also have a red-hot striker making a host of Premier League 2019 highlights. Callum Wilson has been on fire of late; he’s scored in each of the team’s last four matches and has five goals overall during that stretch.

With Bournemouth seemingly incapable of keeping things tight at the back, they will likely go out and attack Arsenal at the Emirates. And with the Gunners’ own problems in defence, that might just be the right strategy anyway.

Recent history between the two sides also suggests that there will more than likely be goals in this game.

History

Arsenal have had the decided edge in their matchups over Bournemouth since they first met in the Premier League in 2015. The Gunners have won six of their eight meetings (one draw, one loss), including all four matches at the Emirates.

They recorded their most convincing victory over the Cherries in this fixture last season as they ran out 5-1 winners. Mesut Ozil opened the scoring after just four minutes, with Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette adding the finishing touches in the second half.

Moreover, there have been three or more goals in each of their last six Premier League meetings.

Betting Tip

??
Arsenal vs Bournemouth Over 3.50 Goals @ 2.00
October 6, 21:00 (GMT+8)

There aren’t too many surprises in the Premier League 2019 betting odds for this match. Arsenal are priced at 1.47 to win on the 1X2 market while Bournemouth are at 5.60. A draw is 4.80.

Based on their history, an Arsenal home win seems like a fairly safe bet. However, the 1X2 market doesn’t present all that much value.

For a bet with much better value, I suggest going with the over-under, particularly Over 3.50 goals. From the shaky defences to the in-form strikers, all the signs just point to there being a host of goals in this game, so don’t hesitate in taking the over.

A SHORT EXPLANATION ON HOW OUR (??) BETS ARE WORTH:
