Newly promoted side Hannover 96 pulled off the biggest upset of the day as they took down online betting stars Borussia Dortmund in a six-goal thriller, eventually dropping the title contenders to second place.

The defending champions reclaimed their throne behind two first-half goals from James Rodriguez and Robert Lewandowski.
Meanwhile, Hoffenheim missed their chance to get within a point of Dortmund following a 1-3 defeat to Gladbach.
Elsewhere, Mainz and Eintracht, as well as Schalke and Wolfsburg, played out a 1-1 draw. Bayer Leverkusen, on the other hand, kept Koln winless with a 2-1 win; while Hertha BSC thump Hamburger SV by the same scoreline.
