Napoli 4-1 Lazio
The Partenopei remained atop the Serie A standings after completing a stunning come-from-behind victory against Lazio.
Napoli have won seven straight football games prior to the match, but betting odds on their chances of extending their streak appeared to be crumbling after the visitors took the lead within just three minutes.
A late first-half strike and a flurry of goals in the second, however, saw the hosts turn things around and delight the online gambling faithful in attendance at the Stadio San Paolo.
Dutch defender Stefan de Vrij put Lazio in front after firing a thunderous strike from close range off a Ciro Immobile cross. Nonetheless, Napoli managed to equalise two minutes before the break, with Jorginho teeing up Jose Callejon who displayed great composure in front of the net.
It was all the home side from there on, and it didn’t help Lazio that they gave Napoli the lead with a Wallace own goal on 54 minutes.
Mario Rui bagged his first in top-flight competition to give the hosts more breathing space before Dries Mertens rounded out the scoring on 73 minutes with his 15th league goal of the season. The Belgium international scored off an assist from Piotr Zielinski, who bamboozled two defenders to set up their fourth.
Juventus, meanwhile, had a brief time at the top after a clinical 2-0 win against Fiorentina, courtesy of second-half goals from Federico Bernardeschi and Gonzalo Higuain.
On the other hand, third-placed Inter Milan and fourth-ranked Roma leapfrogged Lazio—now in fifth—after beating Bologna and Benevento, respectively.
AC Milan and Sampdoria piled more misery on the other bottom feeders as well, with Patrick Cutrone pacing Milan to a 0-4 victory over SPAL and Marco Giampaolo’s men taking down Hellas Verona 2-0.
Elsewhere, there were wins for Torino and Genoa, while Crotone and Atalanta, and Sassuolo and Cagliari shared the spoils.
