Not long now by the sounds of it.
For the countdown is well and truly on to the start of La Liga which will kick-off soon with the first game back seeing Sevilla welcome Real Betis.
You will have missed the action and been craving a restart with so much still to play for.
But what action could prove the most critical of all as the final chapter is played out in the 2019/20 campaign?
I have selected five fixtures which could be of most crucial importance at both ends of the table.
Matchweek 28 (Sat, June 13 – 9pm)
Real Mallorca vs Barcelona
The first game back after the three-month hiatus is always going to be a learning curve for all involved and, with both sides needing the points for very different reasons, there’ll be no time to ease back into action.
Reigning champions Barcelona are two points clear of arch rivals Real Madrid at the top, while Real Mallorca are in the drop zone but only one point adrift of safety in a basement battle which sees five teams separated by just six points.
Mallorca want to ensure their first top flight season in seven years is not a solitary one, while Barca are aiming to secure the title with new boss Quique Setien, Antoine Griezmann and Frenkie de Jong looking for their first piece of silverware at the Nou Camp.
They have an advantage in that the enforced break has allowed Luis Suarez to return with the Uruguayan now recovered from knee surgery which had been set to rule him out for the remainder of the campaign.
Matchweek 30 (Sun, June 21 – 5.30pm)
Getafe vs Eibar
This fixture may not jump out automatically, but it does for me.
Getafe have been the side of the season to date and currently lie in fifth spot with, amazingly, only goal difference preventing them from being in a Champions League qualification berth.
Having been on the verge of a top-four place last season, Jose Bordalas’ men will be looking to go one better this time around.
They’ve already had the taste of big European nights by meeting Ajax in the Europa League so qualifying for Europe’s top tournament would be an historic achievement for the team from the Estadio Coliseum Alfonso Perez.
Eibar, another side to have defied expectations in recent seasons, are struggling this term and only just outside the bottom three so the points are just as important for them.
Matchweek 32 (Sun, June 28 – 5.30pm)
Getafe vs Real Sociedad
Another important one for Getafe but even more so considering, as it stands, Real Sociedad is the team which is keeping them out of the top four.
It’s by the slenderest of margins: just goals scored as both teams have an identical points’ tally and goal difference.
Both clubs could make the top four, both could miss out, given there’s only two points between perennial challengers, third placed Sevilla and sixth placed Atletico Madrid.
Matchweek 33 (Wed, July 1 – 8pm)
Real Mallorca vs Celta Vigo
A relegation six-pointer if ever there was one.
Mallorca are desperate for stability, since they were relegated from La Liga in 2013, they have had a whirlwind time of it, including one season in the third tier.
Meanwhile, it’s a big surprise to see Celta Vigo struggling.
Europa League semi-finalists three years ago, draws have been their problem this term with 11 drawn league matches of the 27 they had played when Covid-19 brought football to a halt.
However, with Iago Aspas in their ranks, they should have sufficient wriggle room and have already shown their ability to upset the top clubs.
The Spaniard scored 10 goals in his last nine games last season to save the Galician club, and may need to do so again.
Matchweek 37 (Wed, July 15 – 8pm)
Real Sociedad vs Sevilla
How crucial this could be between the sides who are lying in fourth and third spots when La Liga resumes.
With Sociedad also due to travel to Atletico Madrid on the final day of the league campaign, this fixture may have added importance.
Sevilla boss Julen Lopetegui is eager for success after his forgettable experiences with the Spanish national team and Real Madrid in recent years.
Meanwhile, Imanol Alguacil’s Sociedad have been one of the revelations of the campaign with the likes of on-loan Martin Odegaard, Alexander Isak and Mikel Merino among their star performers.
