Manchester City put in another stellar performance to sweep aside Arsenal and cement their place at the top of the Premier League with an amazing 31 points from the first 11 football games.
It’s hard to see how they can be stopped and while Arsenal ran the favourites closer than most, yet another win was never really in much doubt.
Football betting fans knew there’d be goals in this game and so there were. The Sky Blues dominated and it could quite easily been three at the break but Aaron Ramsay brought a smart save from Ederson on the stroke of half time which kept City’s noses just in front.
It looked like game over five minutes after the break when Raheem Sterling was felled in the box and City’s all time top scorer, Sergio Aguero, smashed the penalty in off the post.
That seemed to sting the Gunners into some action and Arsene Wenger introduced Alexandre Lacazette, which lifted his team immediately and an upturn in energy and ambition soon led to Lacazette firing through Ederson’s legs and into the net.
Game on! Arsenal pushed for an equaliser but City remained composed and substitute Gabriel Jesus looked certain to score on 67 minutes, Petr Cech saving his close range effort brilliantly to keep the score at 2-1. But the big keeper could do nothing when City strolled through his defence and Jesus slotted home the third.
So the brilliant Sky Blues march on and dispatch another title rival. It’s looking good at the Etihad.
