No it’s not Real versus Atletico. Los Blancos are heading to the third Madrid club on Thursday…Leganes.
The home fans could only dream of football games like this, before their amazing promotion, and now their heroes are facing up to the best players in the world, on even terms.
In any David versus Goliath clash, Handicap Betting is the perfect way to even up the teams; but maybe Leganes won’t need that!
WEEK 30 WEDNESDAY:
Athletic Bilbao vs Espanyol
Espanyol benefited from Real Betis’ late collapse to stay ninth in the table while their Bilbao hosts had a comfortable away win at Osasuna. Athletic Club lost at home to Real Madrid last time, but won their previous five home games.
Atletico Madrid vs Real Sociedad
As a curtain raiser to the derby, the other Madrid club is aiming for a fifth consecutive league win in a run which has taken Antoine Griezmann and co third. Atletico’s star player is seeking his 15th goal of the la Liga season while strike partner Kevin Gameiro is on ten. Sociedad has gone three without a win and Atletico is at 1.90 to win with a -1.25 handicap.
Real Betis vs Villarreal
The Yellow Submarine have hit a sticky patch with back-to back defeats, but preceded that with a run of four consecutive away wins. Real Betis snatched defeat from the jaws of victory at Espanyol and may still be smarting enough for Villarreal to profit.
WEEK 30 THURSDAY:
Barcelona vs Sevilla
Barca kick off two hours before the leaders and they can heap a little more pressure on their rivals by beating Sevilla and taking the top spot. Jorge Sampaoli’s side is without a win in four in the league and were dumped out of the Champions League by Leicester. Barca are at 2.03 to win with a -2.00 handicap.
Alaves vs Osasuna
Alaves were unlucky to lose by three goals to Real Madrid at the weekend, matching their illustrious hosts for much of the game. Osasuna put up a decent show at home to Athletic Club but the bottom club are unlikely to add to their 11 points here.
Sporting Gijon vs Malaga
18th-placed Sporting will be hoping Granada can spring a surprise because a home win will haul them to within two points of out-of-sorts Malaga, sitting on 27 points alongside Depor. If Granada can do them a big favour, Sporting could actually have three teams within reach.
Deportivo La Coruna vs Granada
Deportivo were pulling nicely away from the drop zone but back to back defeats have got their fans looking nervously over their shoulders again. They can put their minds at rest by beating 19th-placed Granada. The visitors have lost their last six away.
Leganes vs Real Madrid
A capacity crowd in Leganes’ tiny stadium will roar their team on in the hope of creating a huge upset. Alexander Szymanowski scored in a draw at high flyers Real Sociedad at the weekend and you can get 4.60 on another draw here. Odds of 1.86 on Leganes to win with a +1.50 advantage suggest it may not be an easy night for Los Blancos.
WEEK 30 FRIDAY:
Eibar vs Las Palmas
Eibar can stay in the hunt for a Europa place if they follow up an impressive away win at Villarreal with another victory against Las Palmas. The visitors will be keen to shake off their reputation as poor travellers having just one draw to show from their last five trips before their Tuesday visit to Celta Vigo.
Valencia vs Celta Vigo
After a rather underwhelming first half of the season Valencia have come to, and had a convincing 3-0 win over Deportivo at the weekend. Celta Vigo have fallen off the Europa pace a little but have lost only one of their last five away games and will be up for a fight at the hostile Mestalla.
