Brazil vs Colombia
The Copa America favourites are on show again in Rio, on Wednesday, when Brazil take on Colombia in their third game of this year’s South American showcase.
It’s a top of the table clash in Group B where Brazil are two points clear and with a game in hand of Los Cafeteros; and the way they have started the competition I expect the Samba Boys to have some ore fun at Colombia’s expense. With big victories already in the bag, against Venezuela and Peru Brazil have Ecuador as well as Colombia to play and the odds are on Tite’s men getting a full sent of victories.
This is Colombia’s final group game and, with plenty of talent in the team, they will certainly pose some questions, but Brazil should have too much for their visitors and take another three points.

Sizzling Selecao
The Copa America 2021 betting odds have pitched Brazil as the strong favourites and their results, as well as the style in which they have been achieved, have been mightily impressive. They beat Venezuela 3-0 and went one better with a 4-0 destruction of Peru when PSG star Neymar was outstanding, scoring the second goal and cutting through the Peru defence at will with his brilliant footwork. He also bagged a goal in the win over Venezuela and he’ll be hunting for more against Colombia.
At odds of 1.47 here at SBOTOP Tite’s team is well backed to make it three wins from three and with no injury worries he’ll be able to pick a side with Gabriel Jesus and Roberto Firmino alongside Neymar, a mouth-watering prospect; while a defence led by Marquinhos, in front of keeper Allison Becker, will make things difficult even for Colombia’s gifted attackers.
Inconsistent Colombia
The start of Colombia’s tournament was dominated by the news that talisman James Rodriguez was missing from the squad, but they started well enough as Edwin Cardona scored the only goal in Colombia’s 1-0 win over Ecuador. Reinaldo Rueda’s side struggled to a 0-0 draw with Venezuela and ended up with ten men after Luis Dias saw red. Then Los Cafeteros’ game with Peru should, on paper, have confirmed Colombia’s passage into the knockouts; but it all went wrong on the grass and a 2-1 defeat left them with just four points, most probably enough to see them through, but a disappointing return. Peru went ahead early in that game through Sergio Pena, but after Miguel Borja equalised from the penalty spot an own goal by Everton centre back Yerry Mina handed all three points to Peru.
Rueda has winger Dias back after suspension as well as Mateus Uribe, while attacking midfielder Juan Cuadrado is Colombia’s best creative player. He plays as a wing back for Juventus but Los Cafeteros use him in a more advanced position and he’ll provide much of the ammunition for Luis Muriel, Duvan Zapata and Alfredo Morelos.
Inconsistency has dogged Colombia’s Copa America 2021 results so far, but they have a talented bunch of players, even without Rodriguez, and should progress to the knockout stage; though they may be stuck on four points.
History
The five times World Champions, Brazil, have been dominant in South America as well as on the world stage. They won the Copa America for the ninth time in 2019 and, with some of the best players plying their trade in Europe’s top leagues, they have quality running right through the team.
Colombia won the Copa America for the first and only time in 2001, and they too have performed well on the world stage over the past few years, reaching the World Cup quarter-final in 2014 and the Round of 16 in 2018.
But while Los Cafeteros’ recent form has been patchy, winning two, drawing three and losing three of the last eight, Brazil’s form has been sensational over the same period. The Selecao have won their last eight games, keeping seven clean sheets while scoring 23 goals and conceding two, in a 4-2 World Cup qualifier victory over Peru.

At 1.47 to win you have to fancy Brazil, while Colombia are at odds of 5.41 and the draw is at 3.78. The visitors are at a price of 1.98 with a one goal advantage while Over 2.50 goals is available at 2.14.
The Selecao have had almost a week to prepare for this major clash while Colombia have only had three days to recover from their loss to Peru, and that will tip the balance further in the Samba Boys’ direction.
With a tight defence and a superb attack Brazil should win with a bit to spare.
