Bundesliga: RB Leipzig Gunning for Fifth Straight Victory

RB Leipzig vs TSG Hoffenheim

RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann will face his former club TSG Hoffenheim in their upcoming Bundesliga match tomorrow at the Red Bull Arena.

Nagelsmann spent over three years in charge in TSG Hoffenheim where he guided them to a UEFA Champions League berth after being primarily known as a middling team.

The Red Bulls have got back on track by winning four of their last five matches, and a win here would catapult them to the top of the Bundesliga table – a place where they once were at the start of the season.

TSG Hoffenheim, meanwhile, are still in the same place where they should be – which is at around the eighth to tenth spot at the table. They are coming off of an underwhelming 1-1 draw against the 15th-seeded Fortuna Dusseldorf and a possible upset against the Red Bulls is something they would like to happen.

Can TSG Hoffenheim spoil RB Leipzig plans? Or will the home team continue to assert their mastery over the visitors?

For now, SBOBET gives you a sneak peek on this upcoming matchup.

Talking Points

Hard-charging Red Bulls on a mission

The Julian Nagelsmann-mentored squad has been playing superb as of this writing. They have won four straight matches in the Bundesliga along with clinching their place in the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League.

After a tough loss against SC Freiburg, RB Leipzig went bonkers against FSV Mainz 05, Hertha BSC, and FC Koln, while surviving a close one against Paderborn. They capped off their run in Group G of the UEFA Champions League by eliminating Benfica, albeit in a comeback to draw 2-2.

As expected, Timo Werner continues to lead the way for the team. The 23-year-old striker has registered 13 goals and five assists, plus some notable Bundesliga 2019 highlights to boot.

He has formed a successful attacking partnership with the likes of Marcel Sabitzer and Emil Forsberg who have five and four goals respectively, taking their offence to a whole new level.

Julian Nagelsmann continues to pull out rabbits from his hat as he would change their usual formation again. They changed from 3-4-1-2 to a back heavy 4-4-2 and now to a 4-2-2-2, which gives their midfielders and attackers a lot of room to unleash their creativity while confusing opposing defences.

This gave someone like Christopher Nkunku ample opportunities to inspire. The French forward is currently one of the league’s leaders in assists with six already.

The Red Bulls’ defence has done decent as well. However, they could still use some improvement since they haven’t kept a clean sheet in their past few games. RB Leipzig would be hopeful that a returning Tyler Adams would help on that regard, but he is expected to be rusty after a long layoff.

TSG Hoffenheim to shrug off mini-slump

Die Kraichgauer have done decent in the ongoing season. They are currently at the eighth spot in the standings with 21 points and a top-six berth should be well within reach.

One of their main highlights in this young season is their opening matchday stunner against Bayern Munich. Sargis Adamyan scored a brace in his Bundesliga debut in front of the fans at the Allianz Arena.

But recently they are in the midst of a mini-slump as they’ve endured a tough loss against FSV Mainz 05 while drawing level against Fortuna Dusseldorf last weekend. They will surely go all out in this upcoming match to avoid any slip-ups.

While Sargis Adamyan provided an eventful story for the team, it is Andrej Kramaric who has been instrumental to their run. He is at the forefront of their offence as he’s already netted four goals this campaign.

For this match, team boss Alfred Schreuder is expected to field in Kramaric and Locadia at the front. Adamyan is not expected to be part of the starting XI to give way to Dennis Geiger with the former struggling to add more goals.

The suspension of midfielder Sebastian Rudy will hurt TSG Hoffenheim, and he will be replaced by Lukas Rupp in the lineup.

The Alfred Schreuder-coached squad isn’t really known to having big names, which is why they would have to rely and trust on each other more coming into this match against a title contender.

History

The Red Bulls were undefeated in all three meetings with TSG Hoffenheim last term (W1, D2). Plus, they are the only club to have won in all of their Bundesliga games for the month of November.

Die Kraichgauer have won in their last three road games so far this season, but they have never won in four away games consecutively.

Julian Nagelsmann took charge for TSG Hoffenheim in 116 Bundesliga matches for three years. His former assistant Alfred Schreuder is currently TSG Hoffenheim’s main man at the helm.

Betting Tip

??
RB Leipzig vs TSG Hoffenheim RB Leipzig Asian Handicap -1.00 @1.71
December 07, 22:30 (GMT+8)

Our Bundesliga 2019 odds have RB Leipzig at 1.45, TSG Hoffenheim at 6.00, and a draw at 4.70 in the 1×2 market, which clearly favours the home team.

The Red Bulls are firing on all cylinders as they continue to play with energy and inspiration, and it’s hard to envision the road team dampening their momentum right now.

TSG Hoffenheim will try to make it as close as possible. However, the brilliance of Julian Nagelsmann along with his vaunted rotation should make this a sure victory for RB Leipzig.
