Bundesliga: Champions-Elect Won’t Rest on Their Laurels

Bayern Munich vs SC Freiburg

Well, it is official SBOBET fans. Bayern Munich are your champions for the eighth consecutive time in the Bundesliga after defeating Werder Bremen last night.

But even if the title was already at their grasp, the Bavarians had to earn it the hard way especially when they were reduced to only 10 men at the 79th minute.

That match may be unconvincing to the standards of Bayern Munich fans, but they still got the job done nonetheless.

With the current season reaching its final stages, there will still be matches to look forward to in the next few weeks. One of which is the upcoming fixture between the Bavarians and Die Breisgauer to be held at the Allianz Arena this weekend.

The visitors sit at the seventh spot at the table with 45 points and they have been playing with a sense of urgency in hopes of securing at least an Europa League spot for next year.

For Bayern Munich, there’s not much incentive to go all out in this game. However, knowing their championship pedigree, they’re expected to play like they are the ones staving off relegation from top-flight.

Today, let’s take a preview on how these two clubs will match up on Saturday night.

Talking Points

Another year, another title for Bayern Munich

It wasn’t easy, but the Bavarians got it done as always here in the Bundesliga.

It can be noted that for a while, Bayern Munich were struggling to find their form as they would lose some key games in uncharacteristic fashion.

Because of their up-and-down journey, that led to the likes of Borussia Monchengladbach and RB Leipzig to momentarily take the lead at the table.

With their hopes of an eighth straight title slipping away, something had to change. And eventually, the team’s top brass replaced Niko Kovac with Hansi Flick after a horrendous showing against Eintracht Frankfurt.

With Hansi Flick in charge, Bayern Munich’s play on both ends changed dramatically.

Through his free-flowing style and superb player development, Flick managed to draw out meaningful contributions other than from their usual suspects.

Alphonso Davies, Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman were some of the young players who have excelled under Flick for this term.

Their young core along with their veterans in Thomas Muller and Robert Lewandowski produced a ton of Bundesliga 2020 highlights – scoring at a blistering rate with 93 goals this term.

And as the goals kept in coming, the wins piled up too and it’s just a matter of time to where they’ll hoist the trophy up once more.

SC Freiburg coming back to life

The month of May has been miserable for SC Freiburg. But as the calendar flipped its page to June, Die Breisgauer have improved quite a bit.

They scored a big victory against Borussia Monchengladbach to start, then they drew level against VfL Wolfsburg before winning another one against Hertha BSC last night.

Nils Petersen has been nothing short of spectacular for SC Freiburg. He continues to be their leading scorer with 11 goals and two assists so far.

Lucas Holer has been on target lately for Die Breisgauer too with six goals and two assists.

Besides those two, Vincenzo Grifo has been an integral cog for the team as well with four goals and seven assists already this term.

Bayer Leverkusen have a firm grip of the fifth spot with 57 points – leading over VfL Wolfsburg and SC Freiburg by at least 10 points.

With that said, Christian Streich’s men is obviously aware on their Europa League chances and they must be feeling immense pressure right now, especially since they’ll face the league heavyweights.

History

In their 30 total matches together, Bayern Munich have had the upper hand in the overall head-to-heads.

The Bavarians won in 24 of those while SC Freiburg won only once along with five draws.

Two of those draws were from last season where Lucas Holer and Robert Lewandowski were the key men who have provided the goals.

Matches between these two often end up in a goal-fest, albeit in favour of Bayern Munich, as they’ve posted an average of 3.23 goals per match.

Betting Tip

??
Bayern Munich vs SC Freiburg Bayern Munich Asian Handicap -2.25 @ 2.26
June 20, 21:30 (GMT+8)

It’s obvious that the champions-elect are going to be heavily favoured in our latest Bundesliga 2020 odds.

In the 1×2 market, Bayern Munich are priced at 1.22 while SC Freiburg are significantly behind at 12.00 and a draw is at 6.00.

The Bavarians continue to be dominant in the Bundesliga and it will be hard to envision anyone stopping them at this point in the season.

So the pressure is on for the visitors to pull off an upset as they try to keep the Europa League hopes alive.

A SHORT EXPLANATION ON HOW OUR (??) BETS ARE WORTH:
