Roma and Juventus both won well this weekend and the gap at the top of Serie A remains six points; but, despite betting tips pointing towards the Old Lady enjoying another triumph, there are no signs of Roma giving up the chase.
The Bianconeri are always the favourite among football betting fans, particularly in Turin. But whereas Napoli pushed them all the way last year, this season it’s the turn of Roma.
Edin Dzeko made one and scored his 24th of the league season as Roma won 0-3 in Bologna. Federico Fazio opened the scoring on 25 minutes, and then Dzeko set up Mo Salah for the second before netting himself at the Renato Dall’Ara.
Gonzalo Higuain followed up his two goals against Napoli in the Cup with another brace to give Juventus a 2-0 win against Chievo. It’s the seventh time the Argentine hit-man has banged in two in a game, and that’s the perfect warm-up for his big Champions League test against Barcelona this week.
In the battle for the third Champions League place, Napoli came out on top with a resounding 0-3 win at Lazio as the maestro Lorenzo Insigne scored twice. Napoli are now seven points clear of Lazio and four behind Roma.
The Milan clubs had mixed fortunes as the shock of the weekend came at Ezio Scida where a first-half double strike, courtesy of Diego Falcinelli, gave Crotone a 2-1 win over Inter. Danilo D’Ambrosio pulled one back but Crotone, seemingly doomed, are now just one win from safety after back-to-back victories. AC Milan took advantage and leapfrogged their rivals into sixth place with a 4-0 thumping of Palermo.
