One week in and Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United are already looking like a force to be reckoned with.
A 4-0 opening day win for the Red Devils raised a few eyebrows and Jose will set his team up this week to make sure it wasn’t a one-off. There’s another set of exciting fixtures on the way and we can enjoy it all with Asian Handicap Betting at SBOBET.
WEEK 2 SATURDAY:
Swansea City vs Manchester United
Betting websites have already installed United as second favourites to win the title, and with the power of Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic making such an impact against West Ham, Swansea should be nervous. Paul Pogba looks more of a threat with Matic behind him. With his best player, Gylfi Sigurdsson, on his way to Everton, Swans boss Paul Clement faces a massive challenge.
Liverpool vs Crystal Palace
A last-gasp goal denied Liverpool a win at Watford, but Jurgen Klopp’s team recovered to beat Hoffenheim in midweek. Even without Philippe Coutinho, they should still have too much for Palace, who will be without the injured Wilfried Zaha. After having Sam Allardyce as a coach, Palace players may take some time to adapt to Frank de Boer’s ‘total football’.
Burnley vs West Bromwich Albion
After stunning Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, Burnley get back to the bread-and-butter business of winning games against their direct rivals. Turf Moor was a fortress last year, but the Baggies have a habit of upsetting Sean Dyche’s men. They, too, got off to a winning start, albeit less spectacularly, at home to Bournemouth.
Leicester City vs Brighton & Hove Albion
The Foxes want to avoid another relegation scrap, so they see this as a big opportunity to open their account against a Brighton side comfortably beaten by Manchester City in their opener. Wantaway Riyad Mahrez may not feature, but Jamie Vardy started the season well with a brace.
Southampton vs West Ham United
West Ham have been tipped for a good season after recruiting well over the summer, notably striker Javier Hernandez, but the Hammers were destroyed at Old Trafford last week. Southampton started with a 0-0 draw against Swansea, and I can see another close game here.
Bournemouth vs Watford FC
Marco Silva’s Watford grabbed a sensational late goal to grab a point against Liverpool and will hope to build on that when they visit the South Coast. Eddie Howe’s Cherries are yet to get off the mark after being ground down in West Brom last week. They’ll enjoy getting back to the sunshine!
WEEK 2 SUNDAY:
Stoke City vs Arsenal
Arsenal opened their account in a 4-3 thriller against Leicester which displayed both the Gunners’ attacking flair and their defensive frailty. If there is an antithesis to Arsenal then Stoke is it. The Potters could be in for a tough season, having lost some key players as well as their opening fixture.
Huddersfield Town vs Newcastle United
The Premier League bandwagon rolls into Huddersfield on Sunday as two promoted teams meet on the biggest stage. Town will still be bouncing after Steve Mounie fired them to a shock 3-0 win at Palace, while Newcastle already look set for a long season after opening-day misery at the hands of Spurs.
