Eastern Conference Semi-finals Game 3
There are currently two kings in the Eastern Conference. One of the kings is hard to ignore, making play after spectacular play. The other is a genius strategist who made a seemingly lacklustre team into a dangerous playoff contender that can fight with the best of them.
Some sports betting fans are already anticipating a clash between these two teams in the Eastern Conference Finals, but we should know better than to write off their two seemingly harmless opponents. Pre-match betting odds are meant to be guides as upsets tend to happen every now and then.
Boston Celtics @ Philadelphia 76ers (May 6, 06:00 GMT +8)
The Celtics have a two-game cushion as they head to Philadelphia, and their confidence is only bound to soar with every passing minute. Brad Stevens, the architect behind Boston’s on-court brilliance, found a way to make Ben Simmons ineffective at the point, leaving Joel Embiid and Robert Covington to carry the scoring load on their own.
Brett Brown and the rest of Philly hope that things will change when the Celtics visit their backyard. Simmons better forget what happened in Game 2 if he wants a shot at victory in Game 3. They also need to find a way to contain Terry Rozier who has been red-hot for the Celtics as of late.
As much as I’d like to think that they can pull off a win, I don’t think Brown is the man that can help them get past the Celtics. Stevens has simply outgunned his counterpart in almost every department of the game.
Toronto Raptors @ Cleveland Cavaliers (May 6, 09:30 GMT +8)
I am honestly baffled by the way LeBron James is playing at the moment.
The 33-year-old Akron, OH native is in his 15th season as a professional basketball player, but he still manages to put up insane video game-like numbers. His 43-point, 8-rebound, 14-assist performance in Game 2 defies logic that it may seem to LeBron that he is simply playing a video game.
I am at a loss as to how the Raptors will respond to James’ rampage. Things are especially harder for Dwane Casey, DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry as they will be playing in front of a rabid crowd at the Q. We’re not even talking about Kevin Love’s equally impressive 35-point, 11-rebound stat line.
It’s hard not to pick Cleveland -4.50 @ 1.97. It’s illogical to battle the King of this Conference.
