NBA: Dimes Galore in Indiana as Haliburton and Young Go Head to Head

countdown banner

The Pacers are currently the most in-form team in the NBA right now, as they’ve won five games in a row, and they are looking to make it six when they host the Hawks.

It’s a game that will feature two of the league’s top floor generals, Tyrese Haliburton and Trae Young, who are sure to dazzle SBOTOP basketball fans with a lot of NBA 2024 highlights.

Other than this matchup, the Celtics, Nets, Cavaliers, Sixers, Bulls, Rockets, Pelicans, Mavericks, Nuggets, Suns, Warriors, Lakers, and Kings are set to host the Jazz, Thunder, Wizards, Knicks, Hornets, Timberwolves, Clippers, Blazers, Magic, Heat, Pistons, Grizzlies, and Raptors, respectively, in a jam-packed schedule tomorrow.

Atlanta Hawks @ Indiana Pacers

Confidence is high for the Pacers right now after beating the Bucks, who are considered title contenders, in back-to-back games.

In those wins, it was Tyrese Haliburton who shined the brightest once more, with averages of 28.5 points, 11.5 assists, and 5.5 rebounds per contest to lead the Pacers’ attack that has a league-leading 122.5 offencive rating.

The Hawks have won two straight in a row, too, against the Thunder and the Wizards. Trae Young led the way against the Wizards with 40 points and 13 assists, while Jalen Johnson had a career-high 28 points against the Thunder.

Whoever wins the Tyrese Haliburton-Trae Young essentially wins tomorrow. That is because these two floor generals, while also known for being great scorers, are two of the league’s best playmakers.

Haliburton is dishing out 12.7 assists per game, while Young is averaging 11.3 assists per game this year.

Oklahoma City Thunder @ Brooklyn Nets

The Nets plan to end their five-game losing streak against the Thunder, which is by no means an easy task.

Mikal Bridges continues to struggle offencively for Brooklyn because he has failed to surpass the 15-point mark in three of his last five. Against the Rockets last time out, the 27-year-old swingman needed 18 shots to record just 15 points.

The Thunder are currently at the second place in the NBA Western Conference standings

In stark contrast, the Thunder had a spectacular week, notwithstanding their recent loss to the Hawks. Prior to Atlanta, Oklahoma City took down three heavyweights (Minnesota, Denver, and Boston), as well as New York and Brooklyn.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has certainly improved his NBA 2024 odds to make it to the All-Star Game this season, with norms of 34.6 points on 54.6-per cent shooting, 6.8 rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 2.0 steals per game in his last 10 games.

New York Knicks @ Philadelphia Sixers

Since acquiring OG Anunoby from the Raptors, the Knicks are undefeated. In his first two games for New York, the one-time NBA champion has averaged 14.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 2.0 steals per game.

With his ability to defend and shoot at a high level, Anunoby’s numbers should improve as he gets more comfortable with his new teammates.

Isaiah Hartenstein has also played well for the Knicks during their winning streak. Last time out, the 25-year-old recorded a monster statline of 10 points, 20 rebounds, and five blocks.

But Hartenstein will have a harder time against the Sixers since Joel Embiid is fit again. In his first game back, the reigning MVP recorded 31 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists in the win against the Bulls.

LA Clippers @ New Orleans Pelicans

With eight wins in their last 10 matches, the Clippers have improved to fourth place in the Western Conference standings.

The Clippers recently beat the Suns, as Paul George and Kawhi Leonard combined for 63 points, while James Harden had 22 points and 11 assists.

Two notches below the Clippers are the Pelicans, who have also won four games in a row.

Zion Williamson has been the catalyst for New Orleans’ unbeaten run, with norms of 21.0 points on 68-per cent shooting, 6.3 assists, and 5.3 rebounds per contest.

Orlando Magic @ Denver Nuggets

After their magical run a few weeks ago, the law of averages has finally caught up with the Magic.

Although they’re still doing okay since they’re four games above the .500 mark, they must improve their form since they’re currently on a three-game losing streak.

With Franz Wagner sidelined against Denver due to an ankle injury, there’ll be more responsibility on Paolo Banchero’s shoulders. The reigning ROY just went off for a career-high 43 points in Wednesday’s overtime loss against the Kings.

As for the Nuggets, this is going to be the second night of a back-to-back. They just defeated the Warriors following their furious comeback in the final period, capped off by Nikola Jokic’s booming triple to beat the buzzer for the 130-127 win.
