Luka Doncic and Trae Young both had impressive rookie seasons last year as they made themselves known to SBOBET NBA fans everywhere.
The two rising stars have also made bright starts to their sophomore campaign. Their teams are off to 2-1 starts with both Doncic and Young putting up huge numbers.
But Young’s Hawks and Doncic’s Mavs will face stiff tests this Tuesday as they go on the road to square off against the Heat and the undefeated Nuggets, respectively.
Meanwhile, LeBron James and Anthony Davis will look to extend their two-game winning run as they host promising rookie Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies, who recently got their first win in dramatic fashion.
Atlanta Hawks @ Miami Heat
Trae Young has had quite an impressive start to the season. The diminutive guard racked up 77 points, 14 rebounds, 18 assists, and 11 3-pointers in his first two games to lead the Hawks to back-to-back wins over the Pistons and Magic.
Young finally came back down to earth as he shot just 7-for-20 against the tough Sixers defence last night. But still, he had 25 points and nine assists in a narrow 105-103 defeat against one of the top East contenders.
The Hawks will now play on the second night of a back-to-back against the Heat, who have started the season 2-1 despite being without Jimmy Butler. The All-Star has missed the first three games of the season due to the birth of his child, but he is set to return to the lineup against the Hawks.
In Butler’s absence, the Heat have had surprising production from rookie Kendrick Nunn, who’s averaging 22.3 points on 52 per cent shooting. Justise Winslow has also stepped up, putting up 19.0 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 6.7 assists.
While Young has impressed, Butler’s return should give the Heat too much firepower, which should allow them to top the Hawks at home.
Betting Tip: Heat Asian Handicap -7.5 @ 1.85
Dallas Mavericks @ Denver Nuggets
Dallas’ dynamic duo of Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis is off to a bright start. Doncic is averaging 29.3 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 7.3 assists, while Porzingis is putting up 26.3 points while shooting a sizzling 41 per cent on 3-pointers despite some preseason rustiness.
Porzingis had a team-high 32 points last time out against the Portland Trail Blazers as the Mavs suffered a narrow 121-119 home defeat, their first of the season.
They will have their work cut out for them as they pay a visit to the undefeated Denver Nuggets. Denver’s NBA 2019 results have been quite similar to last year. They improved to 3-0 on the season with a 101-94 road win over the winless Sacramento Kings.
With Nikola Jokic (9 points, 4-for-15 FG) struggling, Jamal Murray stepped up with a team-high 18 points, while fellow guard Gary Harris added 17.
The Nuggets, who were among the top offences in the league last season, have struggled to score in the early part of this campaign; through three games, they’re averaging just 105.7 points.
While the Nuggets will be at home, they will be on the second night of a back-to-back, whereas Dallas will be well-rested. And with both Doncic and Porzingis playing so well, expect the Mavs to put up quite a fight in Denver.
Memphis Grizzlies @ Los Angeles Lakers
The Grizzlies got their first win of the season in the most dramatic way. Jae Crowder buried a clutch 3-pointer as time expired in overtime to defeat the Brooklyn Nets, 134-133.
Crowder’s epic shot was set up by Ja Morant, who had another terrific game of 30 points and nine assists. The rookie point guard is averaging 18 points and six assists on the season. Morant is suffering from a bit of ankle soreness but is expected to play against the Lakers.
Morant and the Grizzlies will face by far their toughest test of the young season as they go on the road to face the Lakers.
After their opening night loss to the Clippers, the Lakers have reeled off impressive back-to-back home wins over the Jazz and Hornets. The superstar duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis have led the way for the Lakers.
James — 23.3 points, 10.0 assists, 7.7 rebounds– has taken on the role of playmaker early in the season, while Davis — 25 points, 10.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 3.3 blocks — has done a bit of everything.
Morant is doing all he can, but the Grizzlies are simply lacking in scoring options at the moment. They will find that Davis and James will be just too much to handle at Staples Center.
Betting Tip: Lakers Asian Handicap -11.50 @ 1.91
