NBA: Warriors, Sixers Make History In Dominant Wins!

It’s a memorable gameday in the NBA, and one for the record books as both the Golden State Warriors and Philadelphia 76ers capped it off with some historic performances.

The Warriors retook the no.1 seed in the brutal Western Conference with a win against the Denver Nuggets, and they did so in style with a record-breaking first quarter performance.

On the other hand, the Sixers showed no mercy to the Minnesota Timberwolves and thrashed them by 42 points en route to their best scoring output in 28 years!

Minnesota Timberwolves 107-149 Philadelphia 76ers

What was supposed to be a career night for Timberwolves star Derrick Rose ended up a disaster, as Philadelphia dismantled Minnesota at home.

Rose reached 10,000 career points in the game, finishing with 15 points on 46.2 percent shooting. However, the Wolves were simply no match to the Sixers who proved why they are the best home team in the NBA.

Joel Embiid banked a double-double with 31 points and 13 boards while Ben Simmons almost had a triple-double with a 20-11-9 stat line.

Philly’s 149 points are their most since 1990. They also scored 149 points against the Denver Nuggets in a game during the 1989-90 season.

Phoenix Suns 97-131 Indiana Pacers

After taking down the Nuggets last Saturday, the Phoenix Suns were expected to put up some fight against the Indiana Pacers. Nonetheless, that wasn’t the case, with the Hoosier State racing to a 38-19 first-quarter lead.

Seven Pacers scored in double figures, led by Tyreke Evans who had 20 points. Interestingly, among all the starters, Victor Oladipo was the only one not to reach the double-digit mark and finished with eight markers.

No Suns player made 20 points, with T.J. Warren being the team’s top-scorer with 18.

Oklahoma City Thunder 126-142 Atlanta Hawks

The Atlanta Hawks can surprise teams from time to time—as they did against the Sixers last week—but after getting blown out by the Milwaukee Bucks last Monday, the NBA 2019 odds at SBOBET leaned on Oklahoma City Thunder to pile more misery on them this time around.

Atlanta proved they shouldn’t be written off though, stunning the Thunder with a 142-point outing behind John Collins and Trae Young.

OKC looked to be on their way to an easy victory in the opening frame, but Atlanta turned things around with a 45-30 second quarter for an 11-point lead heading to halftime.

Collins had 26 markers, while Young had 24 points and 11 dimes for the Hawks. Meanwhile, Russell Westbrook bagged 31 points, six boards and 11 assists in a losing effort for the Thunder.

Miami Heat 86-124 Milwaukee Bucks

Giannis Antetokounmpo played for just 24 minutes as the Milwaukee Bucks remain cautious about his right quad soreness. However, he didn’t need to log 30-plus minutes to grab the NBA 2019 highlights.

The Greek Freak found other ways to help the Bucks in their rout of the Miami Heat, putting up 12 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for his fourth triple-double of the campaign.

Eric Bledsoe did a little bit of everything to fire the Bucks to their fourth win in their last five games since losing to the Toronto Raptors earlier this year. The explosive point guard scored a team-high 17 points on top of five rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block.

Only Hassan Whiteside and Justise Winslow scored in double digits for Miami, chipping in 19 points each. The Heat shot 8-for-34 from three-point territory.

Golden State Warriors 142-111 Denver Nuggets

Despite talks about their lack of depth, the Golden State Warriors showed how deadly they could be when their stars click.

The Dubs made history by breaking the record for most points in a first quarter, dropping 51 against the Denver Nuggets en route to a 31-point victory.

Kevin Durant led the way in the opening frame with 17 points. The Warriors also made a franchise-record 10 three-pointers during that stretch, with Stephen Curry hitting four treys and Klay Thompson and Durant making three apiece.

KD, Steph and Klay finished the match with a combined 89 points.

The Nuggets, who have lost just their third game since their New Year victory over the New York Knicks, also saw their 12-game home winning streak snapped with the defeat.

Chicago Bulls 100-107 Los Angeles Lakers

Things aren’t looking great in Tinseltown. After LeBron James was sidelined due to a groin injury, the Los Angeles Lakers have looked lost and have dropped in the West standings.

Luckily, they found some sort of reprieve against the struggling Chicago Bulls who are yet to buy into Jim Boylen’s basketball philosophy.

Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram—following criticisms about their leadership in the absence of LeBron—stepped up big time and gave the Lakers some much-needed boost to tame the Bulls.

Ball stuffed the stat sheet with 19 points, eight rebounds, six assists and two steals, while Ingram scored 16 to go along with nine boards and seven dimes.

Chicago had six players scoring 10 or more, but they were left chasing in the final canto after allowing the Lakers lead in double digits.
