We love the NBA because of the shocking upsets

What many sports betting fans love about the NBA is how betting odds can easily be upset.

A quick and random bet online for the underdog can easily end up in big winning as basketball is a game that allows as minute as a single play take over the game and swing the momentum the other way.

This is what many fans witnessed today as they saw a plethora of upsets from all over the association.

New York Knicks 101-90 Orlando Magic

This game wasn’t that much of a surprise from the moment the Knicks took the lead in the first half. Kristaps Porzingis and Carmelo Anthony had a field day, scoring from all over the floor against a hapless Orlando squad that only has Evan Fournier as their reliable scorer.

Philadelphia 76ers 98-125 Miami Heat

With Joel Embiid deemed out for the season, there aren’t much one can expect out of Philly. The Heat picked up a free win in a game they led from the first quarter onwards. It was a night of stat-padding for Dion Waiters, Goran Dragic and Hassan Whiteside.

Dallas Mavericks 95-100 Atlanta Hawks

The Hawks may have gotten the W, but Mark Cuban is my winner for this game.

The Mavericks put on an amazing second half that saw them lead in the fourth quarter. Seth Curry and Yogi Ferrell also showed more flashes of talent with their plays that will definitely help Harrison Barnes and the entire franchise moving forward.

Washington Wizards 105-96 Toronto Raptors

The Raptors’ shocking loss shows just how important Kyle Lowry is for the team’s playoff ambitions. John Wall was free to make plays without worrying about defence that much. DeMar DeRozan and Serge Ibaka could only do so much.

Detroit Pistons 86-109 New Orleans Pelicans

No Boogie? No problem!

The Pelicans actually performed better when DeMarcus Cousins sat out due to an association-sanctioned suspension. The Pels didn’t have that fluid of an offence, but Anthony Davis did enough damage to stop the Pistons from even mounting a run.

Cleveland Cavaliers 99-103 Boston Celtics

Deron Williams had a somewhat subpar debut as the Cavaliers narrowly lost to the Boston Celtics.

LeBron James edges closer to Larry Bird’s 59 career triple-doubles with his 28 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists. Kyrie pitched in another 28 points, but they couldn’t stop the offensive flow led by Isaiah Thomas and Al Horford.

Denver Nuggets 110-98 Milwaukee Bucks

The Milwaukee bucks also endured a long night as the Denver Nuggets overran them. While Danilo Gallinari still remains as Denver’s biggest scoring threat, Nikola Jokic was the star man with his triple-double highlighting just how unique of a centre he is in the NBA.

Indiana Pacers 99-100 San Antonio Spurs

The visiting Pacers put on an impressive fight against the consistent Spurs, with CJ Miles pitching into Paul George and Myles Turner’s scoring efforts. However, a brilliant (and very Kobe-esque) fadeaway from Kawhi Leonard put the game away to the delight of Spurs fans all over the world.

Minnesota Timberwolves 107-80 Utah Jazz

Many expected the Jazz to come out of this game unscathed, but strong performances from Andrew Wiggins, Karl-Anthony Towns and Ricky Rubio helped the Timberwolves steal this game from Utah. Nemanja Bjelica and Shabazz Muhammad also had stellar games for Tom Thibodeau.

Houston Rockets 122-103 Los Angeles Clippers

The Clippers continue to struggle against the West’s best teams as the Houston Rockets outscored them at the Staples Center. The Clippers struggled to score despite taking more shot attempts than the visitors. It also didn’t help that Houston’s starting unit was able to outplay their Clipper counterparts.

New Jersey Nets 109-100 Sacramento Kings

The Sacramento Kings didn’t play basketball today; they did charity work.

They helped the Brooklyn Nets, a team that has struggled to win the entire season, break their painfully long losing streak. They also instilled confidence in Kenny Atkinson’s team by letting them lead all game. The lack of a presence down low becomes all the more evident as Kosta Koufos and Willie Cauley-Stein struggle to fill in the Cousins-shaped gap in their game plan.
