Back-to-backs make NBA online betting more interesting

countdown banner

Playing back-to-back games undoubtedly affect the team’s betting odds, but it also makes sports betting more fun with a little bit of uncertainty in play.

Hence, when NBA basketball resumes this Sunday, fans will be able to witness another drama-filled showdown as nine of the 16 teams that will see action will be having the second games of their back-to-backs.

Detroit Pistons @ Philadelphia 76ers (March 5, 07:00 GMT+8)

Joel Embiid is out for the season, so this is the best chance for the Sixers to develop their young squad as they prepare for next year. They have been consistently playing well behind the big plays of Dario Saric and Robert Covington, and they could add another win to their record if they can exploit Detroit’s weakness on the charity stripe – an area where the Pistons set an NBA record for the worst percentage last Thursday. If you’re willing to take a little risk, the Sixers +4.50 for 1.98 sounds like a good deal.

Toronto Raptors @ Milwaukee Bucks (March 5, 09:00 GMT+8)

Toronto got their revenge against Washington today, and they seem to be adjusting well to life without the injured Kyle Lowry.  Milwaukee will pose quite a difficult challenge after thrashing the Clippers, but their lack of depth on the wing caused by the loss of Jabari Parker and Michael Beasley to injuries will certainly hurt them as they play their third game in four days.

I don’t think this will be close, so go for the Raptors -2.50 for 2.06.

Cleveland Cavaliers @ Miami Heat (March 5, 09:00 GMT+8)

After setting an NBA record of 25 threes in a single game, the Cavaliers are certainly looking unstoppable right now. They will miss the presence of Kevin Love—who scored 28 against Miami last December—but their depth, bolstered by the addition of Deron Williams, should be enough for them to bag another W against the East ninth-placed Heat.

LA Clippers @ Chicago Bulls (March 5, 09:30 GMT+8)

The Clips haven’t been playing well in tight schedules as they have lost all second games in their last seven back-to-backs. Hence, with their frustrating loss to Milwaukee today a further proof of their struggles, this game might just be the perfect chance for Chicago to even the season series against LA especially that they are coming from a win against the Durant-less Warriors. Go for the Bulls +1.50 for 2.00.

Memphis Grizzlies @ Houston Rockets (March 5, 10:00 GMT+8)

A defeat to Dallas will make Memphis question their depth and quality ahead of their battle against their Southwest rivals in Houston. Defence has been the issue for the Grizzlies as they have allowed their previous two opponents to shoot above 47 percent from the field, and that won’t bode well when they face the Rockets known for their high-octane and three-heavy offence. With that said, pick Houston -8.50 for 1.98.

Charlotte Hornets @ Denver Nuggets (March 5, 10:00 GMT+8)

The Hornets’ chances for a playoff spot took a huge hit when they lost to the Suns, and they are likely to suffer another blow when they visit the Nuggets at Pepsi Center. Denver are out and playing on a mission as they aim to solidify their position in the West, and following victories against Milwaukee and Chicago – both with a better record than Charlotte in the East – they are more than ready to continue their brilliant run. Choose the Nuggets -4.50 for 1.86.

Minnesota Timberwolves @ San Antonio Spurs (March 5, 10:00 GMT+8)

Minnesota are in good spirits with two wins on the bounce, one of which a 27-point drubbing of the Utah Jazz. Nonetheless, it remains to be seen up to what extent their confidence will bring them as they will be fighting the Spurs who are on a roll themselves.

Not to mention that Greg Popovich’s men are eyeing for the top seed now that Golden State are in shambles following Durant’s injury.

Brooklyn Nets @ Portland Trail Blazers (March 5, 11:00 GMT+8)

Ninth in the West and just three games behind Denver, Portland will be focused on taking as much Ws as they can to close the gap. Thus, their battle with the NBA-worst Brooklyn should come as great news given that the Blazers defeated the Nets by 20 points when they first met over three months ago.
