As the NBA All-Star voting continues, the league’s top players and All-Star hopefuls will look to showcase everything in their arsenal in hopes of convincing sports betting experts and live betting fans why they deserve a spot in the annual festivities.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, DeMar DeRozan, Anthony Davis and Chris Paul are among the leaders in their respective conferences, but they still have a lot of work to do to keep the betting odds swinging in their favour.
Milwaukee Bucks @ Indiana Pacers (January 9, 08:00 GMT+8)
Victor Oladipo was out for Indiana when they met Milwaukee last week, so his presence this time will surely help improve things for the home team. Giannis Antetokounmpo, however, remains a huge threat for them, especially with the Greek Freak high in confidence after leading the All-Star voting first returns.
Although this one should be a lot closer than their previous fight, choosing the Bucks on +1.00 @ 2.02 is a tempting bet to make.
Toronto Raptors @ Brooklyn Nets (January 9, 08:30 GMT+8)
Brooklyn are a pretty decent team at home, but their defence continues to be a liability as they try to climb up in the East. That should be an even bigger problem when they host the Raptors who boast one of the best offences in the league behind the backcourt duo of DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry. If you’re punting, Toronto -7.50 @ 1.98 seems a good choice.
Houston Rockets @ Chicago Bulls (January 9, 09:00 GMT+8)
With James Harden still out, the Rockets need Chris Paul to do more heavy lifting than usual to bring them back to the win column. Fortunately, they’ll be facing a Bulls squad that fell back to earth after losing four of their last five outings. Go for Houston -5.50 @ 2.03.
Cleveland Cavaliers @ Minnesota Timberwolves (January 9, 09:00 GMT+8)
Coach Tom Thibodeau and Jimmy Butler know how to defeat LeBron James, unarguably the best player on the planet. The question is: do the Wolves have enough to take down the King’s Cavaliers?
The full-strength Cleveland look ready to take over the East again, while Minnesota continue to have an up-and-down stretch. With that in mind, picking the Cavs -1.50 @ 1.96 is the best move to take.
Detroit Pistons @ New Orleans Pelicans (January 9, 09:00 GMT+8)
Playing their second game in three days without Reggie Jackson will be difficult for the Pistons. It shouldn’t also help that they’ll be facing the Pelicans—and their twin towers of Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins—with starting centre Andre Drummond still a doubt after picking up a rib injury.
San Antonio Spurs @ Sacramento Kings (January 9, 11:00 GMT+8)
The Spurs have had some ugly losses in recent weeks, so it won’t be surprising for the Kings to pull off an upset. Not to mention that San Antonio will likely be without Kawhi Leonard as they play the second of a back-to-back against a well-rested Sacramento outfit.
Denver Nuggets @ Golden State Warriors (January 9, 11:30 GMT+8)
Two top-10 offences meet in what should be an exciting affair at the Oracle Arena. Denver, however, are expected to give the Dubs a hard time, with the likes of Steph Curry, Draymond Green and Kevin Durant still uncertain to play due to injuries.
Atlanta Hawks @ LA Clippers (January 9, 11:30 GMT+8)
The Clips have already lost two in a row, but they now have a chance to end that skid against the league-worst Hawks who have won just three times on the road so far. Blake Griffin is out for LA, though DeAndre Jordan and Lou Williams should be able to thrive against Atlanta’s defence that saw a big step backwards this season.
