Liverpool-against-Chelsea football games have always been special and, when they meet this weekend, it’s all set to be another classic.
Chelsea are in third place and nine points off the leaders, while Liverpool are three points further adrift and just outside the Champions League spot. Elsewhere, the hot favourites, Manchester City, visit West Yorkshire, while the Red Devils host Brighton. Come on! It’s going to be another great weekend of Premier League Betting.
WEEK 13 SATURDAY:
West Ham United vs Leicester City
The opener is a belter, and full of intrigue, as David Moyes takes his home bow as the Hammers’ saviour. But having lost his first game as boss in Watford, he desperately needs a result…already! Claude Puel’s Foxes are unbeaten in four away games and up to 12th so this is a big early test of Moyes’ nerve.
Manchester United vs Brighton & Hove Albion
Paul Pogba’s return, as well as Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s reappearance, has the Old Trafford faithful dreaming of a title chase, though they can’t afford to drop many more points. Chris Hughton is doing a great job at Brighton, with the Seagulls unbeaten in five and up to ninth, and he won’t shy away from this test.
Tottenham Hotspur vs West Bromwich Albion
Spurs just weren’t at the races in last week’s Derby, and they’ve been dragged back into the pack occupying fourth to seventh. But they have the easiest game of them all at home to the Baggies. Sacking Tony Pulis, a real survival specialist, is a risk for West Brom and they can’t expect much on Saturday.
Newcastle United vs Watford FC
The 11th-placed Magpies were the victims of Paul Pogba’s return last week and have now lost three on the bounce. Watford ended its own three-match losing run by beating West Ham, but with Everton hotly pursuing boss Marco Silva the Hornets may find it hard to keep focus.
Crystal Palace vs Stoke City
Five points from the last five games have just about kept the Eagles in touch, and a win here could take them to within two points of 17th place. Wilfried Zaha is the key to Palace’s survival and with three goals is a constant threat. After their usual slow start to the season, the Potters have got going with five points from the last three.
Swansea City vs Bournemouth
The Cherries are well and truly up and running and Callum Wilson was in blistering form in the destruction of Huddersfield last week. But it’s looking grim for Paul Clement’s Swans, with five consecutive defeats they will struggle to contain Eddie Howe’s buoyant team.
WEEK 13 SUNDAY:
Liverpool vs Chelsea
Antonio Conte has recently been linked with the Italian job, but he’s done okay at Chelsea, winning 38 from 50 matches and, of course, the Premier League title! Liverpool threw away a three-goal lead in Seville in midweek and that ended a four-match unbeaten run, so Conte will always sniff a chance at Anfield.
Southampton vs Everton
David Unsworth is still at the Everton helm and after a difficult start has won four points from the last two games. The Saints have lost their last two and sit only a point ahead of the 16th-placed Toffees, for who the impressive Oumar Niasse will be aiming to add to his five goals.
WEEK 13 MONDAY:
Huddersfield Town vs Manchester City
The Terriers have already beaten Manchester City’s neighbours – and that did the Sky Blues a big favour – but they’ll have to perform a minor miracle to repeat that feat. Hammered 4-0 by Bournemouth last week, they now face the best attacking side in the league.
