Who would have thought Hannover would be competing with the heavyweights this early in the season? They will be underdogs, perhaps for the most part of the campaign, but they can well continue their unbeaten run against a Gladbach side that probably lost all confidence after receiving a 6-1 thrashing last week.
If you’re punting, Hannover at Asian Handicap +0.50 @ 2.21 looks like a solid choice.
VfL Wolfsburg vs Mainz 05
Both teams are level on points with six, so this game will be important as they look to pull further away from the relegation spots. However, with both sides still without a legitimate attacking threat, their match is likely to end in a low-scoring draw, just like their last three meetings.
Eintracht Frankfurt vs VfB Stuttgart
Following their win-loss pattern, Frankfurt should be able to pull off a victory against the returning Swabians. Nevertheless, they can’t be too confident against Hannes Wolf’s Stuttgart who managed to hold their ground against the soaring Augsburg last time out.
Augsburg vs Borussia Dortmund
What’s not to love about the way Dortmund are playing this year? They have scored 14 goals in their last three league games and have conceded only once – in a lopsided affair that is. Although Augsburg will be determined to extend their five-game unbeaten run, they might just not have enough to counter BVB’s firepower.
Go for another big Dortmund victory on Asian Handicap -1.25 @ 2.03.
WEEK 7 SUNDAY:
Hamburger SV vs Werder Bremen
Just a month ago, Hamburg looked poised for a breakout season. Nonetheless, that seems a distant memory now as they failed to score and lost by at least two goals in their last four matches. The winless Bremen should be an easy fixture, but the hosts certainly won’t have their hopes up.
SC Freiburg vs Hoffenheim
Also without a win, Freiburg’s misery is unlikely to end when they face Hoffenheim at home. Of course, a draw is a possible result given that previous meetings between the two have been close. Though, with Mark Uth brimming with confidence, the Sinsheimers will be hard to stop.
Hertha BSC vs Bayern Munich
Bayern not being at the top is not only because of Dortmund playing better but also due to their inconsistency – their draw with Wolfsburg after leading 2-0 is proof of that. While the Berliners don’t pose a huge threat, it will be interesting to see whether Bayern will hit their stride or suffer another late-game collapse.
With that said, how about punting on Hertha Asian Handicap +1.25 @ 2.09?
WEEK 7 MONDAY:
FC Koln vs RB Leipzig
Bottom of the table with only one goal so far, the grass isn’t green in the Billy Goats paradise. With goalscoring obviously a problem for Koln after the departure of Anthony Modeste, Leipzig have all the chance to secure just their second back-to-back wins.
