Sorry Spurs, this is the Warriors’ show now!

San Antonio Spurs 100-136 Golden State Warriors

The moment Kawhi Leonard was declared unavailable for Game 2 after re-aggravating his ankle injury, there have been fears swirling around the online gambling community that the Spurs’ depleted lineup won’t be able to stand a chance against the Warriors.

As it turns out, those fears were right as San Antonio failed to even test the betting odds, succumbing to Golden State in a forgettable Game 2 display.

That is not to say that the Warriors’ performance isn’t incredible or historic, but the difference in talent in the absence of their rivals’ main man made this one a predictable live betting affair.

Indeed, for most fans, the only question left before the match is how much lead the Warriors will have after it’s over.

And the answer is 36.

Without Leonard and Tony Parker directing the offence, the Spurs struggled to create offensive sets and ended up shooting just 37 percent from the field.

Gregg Popovich handed Patty Mills the keys to run the floor, but he was ineffective as he made only five points and two assists in 21 minutes of action. It also didn’t help that LaMarcus Aldridge was limited to eight points – all after scoring 28 (17 in the first half) the last time out.

Jonathon Simmons was the lone bright spot for them with his team-high 22 markers.

Golden State, meanwhile, didn’t give San Antonio any chance at all. They stepped all over the visitors right from the opening frame and never looked back as they led by as much as 41 points.

Every active player scored for the Dubs with seven reaching double figures. Stephen Curry anchored the attack with 29 points while Patrick McCaw also impressed as he notched 18 off the bench. Kevin Durant chipped in 16 in a pretty comfortable night that saw them shoot 56 percent.

Down by more than 30 points in the second half, Popovich was left with no other choice but send his young guys to give them some playing time.

Golden State were without Andre Iguodala who was out due to a knee soreness while Zaza Pachulia played only six minutes after suffering a right heel contusion.

The Warriors now lead the series 2-0 and it’s looking more difficult for San Antonio to get out of the hole as they only came back once from such deficit – back in 2008.
