The Grizzlies are clawing their way to the top half of the NBA Western Conference standings and they plan on extending their winning streak when they’ll take on the Cavaliers.
On the other hand, the Spurs, Pacers, Suns, and Kings are all on the road too to face the Raptors, Knicks, Pelicans, and Lakers respectively as all of them plan to boost their NBA 2022 odds of making it to the playoffs.
As we open the second half of this season, read on below as SBOTOP previews tomorrow’s five-game schedule.
San Antonio Spurs @ Toronto Raptors
The Spurs are in dire need of a shot in the arm heading into this contest since they’re on a losing streak and they’re severely undermanned.
Dejounte Murray, Lonnie Walker IV, and Doug McDermott are all in COVID-19 protocols, which is a tough pill to swallow since they rely on balanced contributions from everyone to win games.
After routing Detroit last week, San Antonio had three straight defeats at the hands of Utah and Memphis, and Detroit got their revenge through a Saddiq Bey game-winner.
The Raptors, meanwhile, have won two consecutive games and they’ll look to get to the .500 mark after tomorrow’s match. With a 16-17 record as of this writing, they’re 10th in the Eastern Conference.
Fred VanVleet and Pascal Siakam are both in fine form, while the returns of OG Anunoby and rookie forward Scottie Barnes were welcomed with open arms.
Betting Tip: Toronto Raptors Asian Handicap -5.50 @ 1.91
Memphis Grizzlies @ Cleveland Cavaliers
Memphis are enjoying a five-game winning streak and they plan to make it six straight when they’ll take on Cleveland.
The upstart Grizzlies have been riding the hot hand of Ja Morant, who is averaging 28.6 points per game over his last five, with four of those in the north of 30.
Alongside their franchise point guard, Memphis are also being buoyed by Desmond Bane, who is one of the favourites for this season’s Most Improved Player award.
Cleveland have their work cut out for them since their backcourt has been ravaged by injuries and COVID-19 with Darius Garland entering the league’s protocols while Ricky Rubio tore his ACL and is out for the season.
The Cavs are to be led by their frontcourt who are capable of giving every other team problems, which features the likes of Evan Mobley, Jarrett Allen, and Kevin Love.
Betting Tip: Cleveland Cavaliers Asian Handicap -2.50 @ 1.90
Indiana Pacers @ New York Knicks
Both the Pacers and the Knicks would want to halt their skids, although only one of them can do it tomorrow at Madison Square Garden.
Indiana are losers of four straight and are 13th in the Eastern Conference, while the Knicks have lost two consecutive games and are at 11th.
Without Julius Randle, the Knicks struggled mightily on the offencive end – highlighted by their recent loss to the Thunder wherein they only scored 80 points.
As for the Pacers, Domantas Sabonis has been doing his part but he isn’t getting enough help from his teammates.
Betting Tip: New York Knicks Asian Handicap -1.50 @ 1.95
Phoenix Suns @ New Orleans Pelicans
The race for the West’s top spot remains as tight as ever, so the Suns would want to grab any victory they can get in these next few games.
Fresh from a wire-to-wire win over the Hornets, Phoenix head to New Orleans with high confidence despite without their starting center in Deandre Ayton.
Jalen Smith has filled the void left by Ayton since he’s played well alongside their star backcourt of Chris Paul and Devin Booker, while Cam Johnson, Mikal Bridges, Landry Shamet, and Cameron Payne are all doing their part too.
The Pelicans, meanwhile, look to get back on the winning track after suffering double-digit defeats vs. the Jazz and Bucks.
The good news for them is that Jonas Valanciunas and Brandon Ingram are back after being sidelined, while Josh Hart, Devonte Graham, and Herbert Jones continue to improve.
Betting Tip: Phoenix Suns Asian Handicap -7.50 @ 1.93
Sacramento Kings @ Los Angeles Lakers
The Lakers look to get one game over the .500 mark upon hosting the Kings. It has been so far so good for the Purple and Gold in 2022 since they are winners of two straight.
The ageless LeBron James is the main reason why they’ve been winning as he’s been putting up gaudy numbers and NBA 2022 highlights despite his advancing age,
Los Angeles cannot underestimate Sacramento since the visitors have won three of their last four. Tyrese Haliburton has been solid in his sophomore season, while Buddy Hield and De’Aaron Fox are slowly regaining their rhythm.
